Overview

Web page marker that remembers: draw, highlight and add notes, still there when you come back. Annotated screenshot. No sign-up.

Highlite turns any webpage into a canvas. Draw, highlight, add notes and arrows directly on the live page, then capture it as an annotated screenshot and share it in one click. Circle the broken button on a staging site and paste the screenshot into the bug ticket. Mark up a landing page before the design review, or point a colleague to the right setting in a dashboard. Save an order confirmation with the delivery date circled. Highlight the clauses that matter in a terms of service page or the key paragraphs of a long article: your annotations are still there when you come back to the page. ✏️ Annotate Anything - Freehand Pen: Draw directly on the page. - Arrows & Shapes: Point at what matters with arrows, rectangles and ellipses (hold Shift for straight lines, squares and circles). - Text Highlighter: Highlight text in any color. Highlights stay attached to the text when you reload. - Sticky Notes & Text Boxes: Write comments, reminders or to-dos anywhere on the page. - Laser Pointer: Point at things during a screen share or demo. The trail fades on its own. - Edit & Clean Up: Select any annotation to move it, resize it or change its color and size. Use the eraser, undo/redo (Ctrl/Cmd+Z), or clear the page in one go (and undo that too). 📸 Capture & Share - Three capture modes: visible area, full scrollable page, or a region you drag to select. - Download as PNG or copy to the clipboard, ready to paste into a message, a ticket or a doc. - Pro: Send screenshots straight to a Slack channel, a Discord channel or forum, or your own webhook. - Pro: Copy or download your highlights and notes as Markdown, in page order, ready to paste into your notes app. - Pro: Export a page's annotations as a JSON file. Importing one back is free. - Pro is optional: annotating and capturing will always be free. ⚡ Fast to Use - Keyboard shortcuts for every tool (press ? to see them all), Esc to go back to selecting. - Autosave: annotations are saved per page and come back on your next visit. - No account needed to annotate and capture. Works in 18 languages. 🚀 How It Works 1. Open any webpage and click the Highlite icon. 2. Pick a tool and annotate the live page. 3. Click Export: download, copy, or send your annotated screenshot. ℹ️ Good to Know - Highlite can't run on browser pages (settings, new tab), on extension stores or in the built-in PDF viewer. Local files need "Allow access to file URLs" in the extension's details. - Highlights are tied to the page's text. If the site changes the page or loads its text later, a highlight may not come back. - Drawings, shapes, arrows and notes stay where you put them on the page. If the layout changes (a resized window, new content, a panel that scrolls on its own), they may no longer line up with what they pointed at. - Annotations are saved per exact address: the same page opened with a different #anchor or extra parameters starts empty. - Annotations stay in this browser. They don't sync between devices and are deleted if you uninstall Highlite. 🔒 Privacy - Your annotations are stored locally in your browser. They are never uploaded to our servers. - Screenshots stay on your device unless you choose to send them to Slack, Discord or a webhook. In that case they go directly to that service. - Sign-in (Google) is optional and only used for the Pro plan. We receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, plus your subscription status. Nothing about the pages you visit. - We collect anonymous usage statistics (for example "a screenshot was taken") to improve Highlite. These never include page addresses, page content or what you write. 🔍 Why These Permissions? - Read and change data on websites: needed to draw and highlight on the page you're viewing. Highlite only reads the page to place your annotations. - Downloads: to save your screenshot as a PNG. - Storage: to remember your settings and saved annotations. - Identity: for the optional Google sign-in. - Slack: to send screenshots to Slack when you use that option. 🏢 For Teams & IT - Deploy it to your organization with the ExtensionInstallForcelist policy. Extension ID: bceogecjdhnhfcjpimfepbgklmmmcekc - Updates never add a required permission, so they never disable the extension or ask users to approve it again. - Annotations stay in each user's browser. Highlite only contacts get-highlite.app (welcome page, optional sign-in), us.aptabase.com (anonymous statistics), and Slack, Discord or a webhook when a user sends a screenshot there. - Security or compliance questions: contact@get-highlite.app. 💬 Support & Feedback Found a bug or have an idea? Email contact@get-highlite.app or visit get-highlite.app. Highlite is made by one independent developer, so your email reaches the person who builds it, and your feedback shapes what comes next. Click "Add to Chrome" and start annotating.
