Dark Mode for Every Website
Overview
Turn on dark mode for every website. Adjust brightness, contrast, sepia and grayscale, with per-site control and scheduling.
Dark Mode for Every Website helps you make web pages easier to read by applying a customizable dark mode or light reading filter across websites. Use the toolbar popup to quickly turn dark mode on or off, adjust the current site, change brightness, contrast, sepia, grayscale, and choose how the page should be recolored. For deeper control, open the full settings page to manage theme engines, site rules, schedule, fonts, colors, and keyboard shortcuts. Key Features: • Apply dark mode across websites • Quick on/off control from the toolbar popup • Turn dark mode on or off for the current site • Adjustable brightness, contrast, sepia, and grayscale • Dark mode and light reading filter modes • Three theme engines: Filter, Dynamic, and Static • Filter engine for broad compatibility • Dynamic engine to better preserve media colors • Static engine for lightweight CSS color overrides • Custom background, text, and link colors for Static mode • Optional font family override • Text stroke adjustment for stronger readability • Site list with blocklist and allowlist modes • Support for domain and wildcard site rules • Schedule options: always on, follow system theme, or custom time window • Detect already-dark pages option • Keyboard shortcut to toggle the extension • Keyboard shortcut to toggle the current site • Export and import settings • Reset all settings anytime • Works locally in the browser • No account required How to Use: 1. Install Dark Mode for Every Website. 2. Open any website. 3. Click the extension icon in the Chrome toolbar. 4. Use the main switch to enable or disable dark mode. 5. Use the site switch to control dark mode for the current website. 6. Adjust brightness, contrast, sepia, or grayscale as needed. 7. Open full settings for schedule, site list, fonts, colors, and theme engine options. Theme Engines: Filter: Applies a fast page-wide filter and restores media such as images and videos where possible. Dynamic: Uses a hybrid filter approach designed to preserve images, videos, SVGs, and embedded media better. Static: Applies direct CSS color overrides for a more theme-like result on text-heavy pages. Site Controls: Use the site list to choose where the extension should run. You can use it as a blocklist to keep dark mode enabled everywhere except listed sites, or as an allowlist to run dark mode only on listed sites. Schedule: Dark mode can stay always on, follow your system dark theme preference, or run only during a custom time range. Privacy Friendly: Dark Mode for Every Website runs locally in your browser. Based on the current extension files, it does not collect personal information, does not use analytics scripts, and does not send browsing content to the developer’s server. Settings such as theme options, site list, schedule, and display preferences are stored locally using Chrome storage. Note: The settings UI may request favicons from Google’s favicon service when displaying saved site-list entries. .
