This extension improves your productivity by showing which signed-in session is currently Active and letting you open the same page as another user with one click. It is for people who keep work, school, and personal logins in a single Chrome profile and do not want to hunt through each site’s avatar menu every time they need a different identity. Supported sites: • All Google family platforms • LinkedIn (personal profile and company Pages) • X (Twitter) • Instagram • Facebook (personal profile and Pages) Additional supported sites are shown in the screenshots. How it saves time Most sites hide extra logins behind a small avatar, then reload the whole page after you pick one. If you publish from a personal profile and a company Page, or if you keep a school inbox next to a work inbox, those extra clicks add up. Smart Profiles Switcher reads the sessions the page already has signed in, marks the Active one, and lets you jump to another without signing out or opening a new window. You stay on the same URL and keep your place. Who it is for • People who keep more than one login in the same Chrome profile • People who publish from both a personal profile and a company Page • People who open a shared file and land on “You need access” • People who prefer a keyboard shortcut instead of clicking each site’s avatar • Anyone who wants a faster way to confirm the current session before they start typing Features • Compact overlay: see available sessions in a popup on the current page • One-click change: choose a row to load that session immediately • Keyboard shortcut: Option/Alt + L, or a custom Chrome command, to show or hide the panel • Search: type a name or email to filter the list, then press Enter • Access check: on shared files and folders, see Access or No access before you change sessions • Copy URL: the link icon copies the current page address after you click it • Pages: personal and Page identities appear together where the site supports them • Local privacy: no analytics and no remote sync. Settings and photos stay on this device Shared-file access On Drive, Docs, and similar Google-family resources, the panel can check whether the current session can open the file. If you land on “You need access,” you can see which other signed-in identity has Access and move to that one instead of requesting permission from the wrong person. The check runs only on shared resources, not on every tab. Keyboard and search Press Option/Alt + L to open the panel from the keyboard. The search field filters by name or email so a long list stays usable. Arrow keys move the highlight and Enter selects the highlighted row. To change the shortcut, open chrome://extensions/shortcuts and assign any unused combination to Smart Profiles Switcher. Copy the page address When you need to share a link from the current tab, the link icon copies it locally. The extension writes to the clipboard only after that click. It does not read clipboard contents and it does not copy emails or photos. What it does not do It does not create logins, store passwords, or sign you in. It only lists sessions the site already has available in this browser. It does not replace Chrome profiles. If you use separate Chrome profiles for work and home, keep doing that. This tool is for the common case where several identities already live in one profile and you need a faster way to pick the right one. Privacy There is no product account, no cloud backup of your list, and no data collection. Session photos and settings stay in Chrome storage on your computer. Closing a site session in that site’s own menu removes it from the panel the next time the page is read. Permissions • storage: remember settings and cached photos on this device • clipboardWrite: copy the current page URL when you click the link icon Host access is limited to the sites the panel can run on. The listing images are rendered with example names so live inboxes are not shown in the store. How to use Install the extension Open a supported site while signed in Press Option/Alt + L or click the toolbar icon Choose the session or Page you want Optional: open chrome://extensions/shortcuts to set your own key Customization You can change the keyboard command in Chrome’s shortcut settings. The panel follows the page’s light or dark appearance so it stays readable on the sites you already use. Search is optional; if the list is short, click a row. What’s included in this version A smaller panel, an Active marker on the current session, faster open and close, zoom-stable placement, and the link-copy control.
