Autofill Forms — calm, private form filling for your browser Every form on the web asks you for the same twenty things. Your name. Your email. Your phone number. Your LinkedIn URL, your portfolio link, the month you expect to graduate. You have typed these answers thousands of times, and you will type them thousands more — unless something remembers them for you. Autofill Forms is that something. A quiet, focused assistant that learns the answers you actually give, offers them the next time a field asks for the same thing, and stays out of your way otherwise. No account. No sign-up. No cloud. Nothing ever leaves your browser. HOW IT WORKS Open the options page and fill in your profile once: name, email, phone, company, job title, full postal address, website, portfolio, LinkedIn, GitHub, X, plus a dedicated education tab for your school, degree, program or major, and expected graduation. Twenty-two fields in all, every one of them optional. From then on, click into any text box on any site. If Autofill Forms recognizes what the field is asking for, a small suggestion list appears beneath it. Arrow keys move through the options, Enter accepts one, Escape dismisses the list. It behaves the way a native browser control behaves, because that is the point: filling in a form should not feel like operating software. IT READS FORMS THE WAY A PERSON DOES Most autofill tools give up the moment a page stops using textbook markup. Autofill Forms looks at everything a human would look at to work out what a box wants: the autocomplete attribute, the visible label, aria-labelledby and aria-describedby text, the placeholder, the name and id attributes broken back into readable words, and the plain text sitting next to the field. It works inside iframes and inside shadow DOM, where embedded application widgets usually hide. On top of that it ships with dedicated adapters for ten of the hiring platforms responsible for the most form-filling misery on earth: If you are in the middle of a job search, that is the difference between forty minutes per application and four. IT LEARNS, THEN IT RANKS Answers are remembered in two places. Site memory holds what you typed on one particular domain, so an unusual answer given to a specific employer comes back only there. Global memory holds answers by meaning, so an email address you saved once is offered everywhere an email address is wanted. Suggestions are ranked accordingly: what you entered on this exact site comes first, then your saved profile, then answers you have used elsewhere. Values you reuse often and values you used recently rise to the top on their own. Up to eight variations are kept per field, so a second email address stays available without cluttering the list. You choose whether to see four, six or eight suggestions at a time. IT ASKS BEFORE IT REMEMBERS Finish a form and a small prompt offers to save what you entered for next time. Save it, choose Not now, or choose Never here to mute that site for good. Muted sites are listed in the options page and can all be un-muted with one click. Or switch the prompt off entirely, and the extension will only ever suggest what you typed yourself. WHAT IT WILL NEVER TOUCH Passwords, PINs, passcodes, one-time codes, CVC and CVV numbers, payment card fields, Social Security numbers, tax identifiers, bank routing numbers, IBANs and account numbers are detected and skipped. They are never suggested, never filled and never written to storage. Autofill Forms handles the boring repetitive half of form filling and deliberately refuses the dangerous half. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION, NOT BY PROMISE Everything is held in your browser's own local storage, on your own machine. The extension makes no network requests of any kind. There is no server to talk to, no analytics, no telemetry, no account system, no sync. It works with the Wi-Fi switched off, and it asks for only the minimum permissions needed to read and fill the forms in front of you. A POPUP FOR THE QUICK THINGS Click the toolbar icon for a compact panel: responses saved, profile coverage, sites muted. Switch the whole extension on or off. Edit the three fields you use most — full name, email, phone — without leaving the page. Jump to the full options, or clear every saved response at once. IN YOUR LANGUAGE The interface is translated into 43 languages, from Arabic and Hebrew to Japanese, Korean, Hindi and both written forms of Chinese.
