Auto-fill GST login credentials + Download all return types (JSON/PDF/Excel) from GST portal. CA Automation Suite.
GST Suite | CA Automation Suite is a productivity toolkit for chartered accountants, tax professionals and CA firms who spend their days on the GST portal. It works inside your browser while you are logged in to the official portal and takes over the repetitive parts of the job: signing in to client after client, downloading return data month by month, merging files, preparing data for reconciliation and keeping notices in order. You stay in control at every step. You type the captcha yourself, you choose what to download, and you review every result before it is used for any filing or compliance decision. WHO IT IS FOR • CA firms and tax practitioners who handle GST for many clients and want to cut repetitive clicking. • In-house accounts and finance teams who download return data every month for review. • Auditors who need a full year of return data in a tidy, consistent format. • Anyone who reconciles books with portal data and wants a structured starting point. WHAT YOU GET AT A GLANCE The extension has four tabs: Login, Returns, Notices and Clients. Each tab only shows what is relevant to the screen you are on, and a built-in guide points to the exact buttons. The sections below explain each part in detail. 1. LOGIN: SIGN IN TO CLIENTS FASTER Opening the portal, typing a User ID and password and solving the captcha for every client adds up over a busy month. The Login tab shortens that routine. Saved Clients Pick a client from your list, press one button and GST Suite opens the official GST portal and fills in that client's User ID and password. A small captcha box appears next to the login form. You read the captcha, type it, press Enter and the login is submitted. The extension never solves the captcha for you. One-Time Login If you would rather not save anything, use One-Time Login. Type the User ID and password for the session, press the button and the portal opens and fills the details in the same way. Nothing is stored. This mode needs no Google sign-in, so it is also a good way to try the extension. Wrong captcha? Start again quickly The portal clears the password whenever a captcha is rejected. GST Suite notices this and reopens itself on the Login tab, with a red banner on the portal page as a backup, so you can start the login again straight away instead of hunting for the extension. Go straight to the Return Dashboard After a successful login, GST Suite can take you to the Return Dashboard for you. In the "After GST login" setting choose whether it should go automatically, ask you first, or do nothing. The jump follows the portal's own menus at a natural pace and retries if the first attempt does not work. When the dashboard has loaded, the extension opens on the Returns tab. 2. CLIENTS: ONE LIST, ALWAYS WITH YOU The Clients tab holds the list you use for Saved Clients login. • Add a client by typing a name, User ID and password, then pressing Save Client. • Import many clients at once. Download the Excel template, fill it in and import it. Existing clients with the same User ID are updated instead of duplicated. • Search and select clients from the Login tab. • Delete one client or clear the whole list. Your list is available again when you sign in with the same Google account. Before anything is stored in your account, the client list is encrypted in your browser. A copy is also kept on the device so the extension keeps working if your connection drops. If the cloud copy cannot be reached, nothing is overwritten and a warning with a Retry button is shown. 3. RETURNS: DOWNLOAD DATA FOR THE WHOLE YEAR Once you are on the Return Dashboard the Returns tab becomes active. Choose the financial year at the top, then choose the return in the list on the left. The available buttons change with the return you select, so you only see what applies. Download everything at once A toolbar at the top downloads every month in one operation. Depending on the return, you can fetch JSON for all months, summary or detailed PDFs, or Excel for all months. Progress is shown while the files are collected. Download only the months you need Below the toolbar is a month selector. Click a quarter button for Q1 to Q4, use All or None, or tick individual months in the table. Then choose the formats (PDF, JSON, Excel), decide whether files should go into folders by return type or by month, optionally tick the ZIP option, and press Download Selected. Only the ticked months are fetched. Organised files Downloads are named with the client name and GSTIN and saved in a clear folder structure inside your Chrome downloads folder, so a year of work for one client sits in one place instead of in dozens of loose files. Supported returns GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2A and GSTR-2B have dedicated tools described below. The annual return and its reconciliation statement are also available for download where the portal provides them. What is actually available depends on the portal, the taxpayer, the return period and the data the portal has generated. 4. GSTR-1 TOOLS • Download all twelve GSTR-1 PDFs for the year in one click, with the matching GSTR-3B PDFs alongside. • Merge GSTR-1 data into a single Excel workbook. Choose the full year, or tick the months you want and use the selected-months button. The workbook includes a month-wise summary so you can review the whole year on one screen. • Use the merged file as the starting point for year-end review, audit queries or notice replies. 5. SALES REVIEW: GSTR-1 AGAINST GSTR-3B AND YOUR BOOKS Differences between outward supplies reported in the sales return and tax paid in the summary return are one of the most common review points. This tool puts the numbers side by side. • Press the reconciliation button to generate one Excel report for the full year. • Compare month-wise taxable value and CGST, SGST and IGST. • Optionally upload your sales ledger in the supported Excel format first, so the report also shows "as per books" figures. A sample Excel is available to show the expected layout. • Review the differences month by month and investigate the months that stand out. This is a review aid. It points you to months that need attention but does not explain why a difference exists. 6. GSTR-2A AND GSTR-2B TOOLS Individual files Download PDF and Excel for each month as separate files, or fetch many months in one go. Merged workbooks Merge several months into a single Excel workbook. For GSTR-2B the merged file stacks every invoice sheet type together, with headers shown once and summary sheets left out. Use the selected-months button after ticking months, or the full-year button for the whole year. GSTR-2A has the same options. Clean GSTR-2B Reconciliation works best when the source data is flat and consistent. This tool converts the portal data into one tidy sheet, covering regular supplier invoices and credit or debit notes, together with other supported record types where the portal includes them. It keeps the supplier GSTIN, document details, taxable value, tax amounts and the ITC availability information wherever present, and builds a match key from supplier GSTIN and document number. The result is ready to be compared with your purchase register. You can run it for the full year or for selected months, and reload a previously saved clean file later. 7. ITC RECONCILIATION (BETA) This tool compares the clean inward-supply data with your own purchase register. The workflow is the same every time. Step 1: Create the clean file, or load one you saved earlier. Step 2: Upload your purchase register in Excel. Step 3: Map your columns. Tell the tool which column holds the invoice number, supplier GSTIN, date and each amount. For amounts you may select several columns to be added together. Because you map the columns, the tool does not depend on one fixed template. Step 4: Choose what to match on (taxable value, IGST, CGST, SGST, cess) and set a tolerance in rupees. Step 5: Run the reconciliation. Step 6: Review the results: records that match, records that differ, records found only in your books and records found only in the portal data. Section 17(5) screening An optional screening step reads supplier names and descriptions and flags transactions that may deserve a closer look under the blocked-credit rules. This is a screening aid to help you prioritise your review. It is not a legal determination. Eligibility must always be judged by a qualified professional on the actual facts and documents. Monthly return working table After a reconciliation you can export a working table for the ITC section of the monthly summary return as Excel, or as JSON for supported months. These are working outputs for your professional verification. Check every figure and classification before use. Generated files are not guaranteed to be accepted by the portal. Because this feature is in beta, results depend on the quality of your input, your column mapping, the document numbers in both sources and the tolerance you set. Verify results independently before relying on them. 8. NOTICES AND ORDERS (BETA) Keeping track of notices and orders across many clients is time-consuming when every case must be opened one by one. The Notices tab collects them into one place. 1. Open the Notices page. One button takes the portal to the notices and orders section for you. 2. Fetch. The extension reads the list of notices and orders shown on the portal and brings them into the tab. 3. Review the list. Group it by date or by section and see a status summary. Where the portal data allows, you can tell items that need action from your side apart from items pending with the officer. 4. Refresh status. Open individual cases to refresh their latest status. 5. Download attachments into organised folders, or as a single ZIP. 6. Export an Excel index with notice type, section, dates and status. You can type your firm and client name first so they appear on the report. The dashboard organises information that is available on the portal. It does not replace reading the actual notice, checking the statutory due date or confirming the status on the portal. Some classifications need a case refresh and professional verification. 9. BUILT-IN GUIDE New users often waste time hunting for the right button, so the extension includes an interactive guide. Arrows point to the real buttons on the tab you are using, and the steps explain the exact clicks for jobs such as merging selected months or running a reconciliation. • It opens by itself the first few times you visit each tab. • It only explains what is on the screen at that moment, so you are never shown features that are not available yet. • Reopen it at any time with the Guide button at the top right. • You can switch the automatic guide off from the card. 10. EXAMPLE WORKFLOWS Monthly review for one client Pick the client on the Login tab, solve the captcha, let the extension open the Return Dashboard, then download the month's JSON or PDFs from the Returns tab. Run the sales review if you have the ledger ready. Year-end data pull Choose the financial year, use the toolbar to download all months, then merge the sales and inward-supply data into single workbooks. Keep the output in the client's folder for the audit file. Purchase review Create the clean file, upload the purchase register, map the columns and run the comparison. Work through the mismatches first, then the records found only on one side. Notice register Open the notices page, fetch, refresh the statuses that matter, then export the Excel index and download the attachments for the client folder. 11. PRIVACY, STORAGE AND RESPONSIBLE USE • Return data, merging and reconciliation run inside your browser. Return files and reconciliation inputs are not uploaded to our servers. • Saved client logins are encrypted in your browser before they are stored in your Google account's cloud record. A copy is also kept in your browser's local storage. One-Time Login stores nothing. • Google sign-in and Firebase services are used for authentication. For account and support purposes, basic details such as your sign-in email, last sign-in time, the number of saved clients, basic feature-usage counts and a label for the devices you sign in on are recorded. • The extension needs an internet connection and is not an offline tool. • Protect access to your device and your browser profile, because saved logins can be used on your devices. • Please read the privacy policy for full details. • Use GST Suite only with your clients' authorisation and in line with the GST portal's terms and conditions. 12. REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITS • Google Chrome on a desktop computer. • An active login on the official GST portal. • Some features need the Return Dashboard to be open on the portal tab. • Saved Clients and cloud restore need a free Google sign-in. One-Time Login does not. • Excel is needed to open the generated workbooks. • Availability of data depends on the GST portal, the taxpayer, the return period and the data the portal has generated. If the portal is slow or temporarily unavailable, some downloads may fail and can be retried. 13. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Does it solve the captcha for me? No. You read and type the captcha yourself. The extension only fills the User ID and password and shows the captcha box. Are my clients' passwords safe? They are encrypted in your browser before they are stored with your account, and a local copy stays on your device. Keep your computer and browser profile protected. If you prefer to store nothing, use One-Time Login. I signed out and signed in again. Where are my clients? Sign in with the same Google account and your list is restored. If the cloud copy cannot be reached, the extension keeps what is on the device, changes nothing in the cloud and offers a Retry button. Why do some buttons not appear? Buttons depend on the return you selected and on whether the Return Dashboard is open. The guide shows only what is available on the current screen. Can I rely on the reconciliation results? They are a working aid. Check them against your records and the portal before using them for filing, claims or replies. Is this an official tool? No. GST Suite is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the GST Network or the Government of India. IMPORTANT INFORMATION GST Suite is a productivity and workflow-assistance tool. It does not replace professional judgement, independent verification or compliance review. Features depend on portal availability, sign-in, the selected return and the data the portal provides. Beta features may need additional verification. Users remain responsible for checking reconciliation results, ITC eligibility, notice status, statutory deadlines and every generated output before using it for reporting or compliance. Generated files are not guaranteed to be accepted by the GST portal. Built to help CA professionals spend less time on repetitive portal work and more time on review, analysis and professional judgement.
