Gmail Assistant prepares the content, and you review it before anything is sent. How It Works 1. Open a message in Gmail. 2. Open Gmail Assistant from the Chrome extension icon or side panel. 3. Add your own Ollama Cloud API key and select your preferred model. 4. Choose an action such as Summarize, Show Category, Suggest Replies, Draft Reply, or Polish Reply. 5. Review the generated result. 6. Copy the response or insert it into Gmail. Gmail Assistant does not automatically send emails for you. The extension works directly with the Gmail message you currently have open, helping reduce the need to copy email content between Gmail and separate AI tools. Powered by Ollama Cloud Gmail Assistant uses Ollama Cloud for its AI features. You provide your own Ollama Cloud API key in the extension settings. No Gmail OAuth client setup is required. Email content is sent to Ollama Cloud only when you intentionally use an AI action and approve the privacy confirmation. The extension does not permanently store the email content after the AI request is completed. Your Ollama Cloud API key is stored locally in Chrome extension storage. Your selected model, interface preferences, and optional reply details may also be stored so your settings remain available across sessions. Optional reply details may include information such as your name, email address, phone number, website, and location when you choose to provide them for use in generated replies. Always review AI-generated responses before sending them, especially when a message contains important names, dates, prices, links, commitments, or other sensitive details. Permissions Gmail Assistant requests only the permissions needed to support its Gmail and Ollama Cloud workflow. Storage Used to save your Ollama Cloud API key, selected model, interface settings, and optional reply information. Active Tab Allows Gmail Assistant to interact with the Gmail tab you're currently using. Scripting Allows the extension to read the currently opened Gmail message and insert prepared replies when requested.
