Overview
Check public playlist health for free, or use a TrackRescue plan for monitoring and controlled repairs.
# TrackRescue for Chrome TrackRescue brings free playlist health checks, continuous monitoring, and controlled playlist repair tools directly into Chrome’s side panel. Open TrackRescue alongside the YouTube playlist in your active tab. With a connected TrackRescue account, you can run a free, read-only health check on any public or unlisted playlist—no paid plan required. Users with an active TrackRescue plan can protect playlists they own, run on-demand scans, review missing or hidden entries, inspect at-risk privacy and regional availability findings, manage duplicate entries, compare replacement evidence, and confirm playlist changes without repeatedly switching back to the TrackRescue dashboard. ## Free Playlist Health Check * Automatically detect the YouTube playlist open in the active tab. * Run a free, read-only health check on a public or unlisted playlist. * View aggregate counts of unavailable, hidden, at-risk, and exact duplicate entries. * See one sanitized preview of a detected finding. * Check whether the current playlist is already protected by TrackRescue. ## Playlist Protection and Monitoring * Add a playlist you own to your protected selection. * Select and monitor protected playlists directly from the side panel. * Run an on-demand playlist scan. * View the current number of pending repairs. * Access missing, at-risk, and duplicate findings from one categorized Review Queue. An active TrackRescue plan and a connected YouTube account are required for playlist protection, monitoring, scanning, cleanup, and repair features. ## Missing and Hidden Entries * Review missing and hidden playlist entries. * Compare ranked replacement candidates. * Recover missing metadata for hidden playlist entries. * Evaluate the currently open YouTube video as a possible replacement. * Review the available evidence before choosing a replacement. * Confirm a replacement before TrackRescue makes any changes to the playlist. * Ignore an entry without changing anything on YouTube. ## At-Risk Review TrackRescue keeps at-risk entries separate from missing entries and never includes them in automatic repair. * Review unlisted and region-restricted videos separately. * See which monitored countries are affected. * View the complete regional availability metadata reported by YouTube. * Search the reported country list. * Open the original video on YouTube before deciding whether an alternative is needed. * Search for an alternative only when you request it. * Keep at-risk entries outside automatic repair. * Require explicit confirmation before replacing an at-risk entry. ## Duplicate Cleanup * Review exact duplicate entries and possible alternative uploads. * Compare playlist positions, channels, durations, and available upload evidence. * Choose which playlist entries should remain. * Preview every proposed removal before TrackRescue changes the playlist. * Explicitly confirm the duplicate cleanup. * Attempt to undo the latest eligible duplicate cleanup. ## Notifications * Receive a Chrome notification when the amount of pending repair work increases. * Receive a separate notification when a new at-risk finding appears after the initial baseline. * Review all missing, at-risk, and duplicate findings in the categorized Review Queue. ## Privacy and Account Control TrackRescue reads the active tab’s URL only while the extension’s side panel is open. The URL is used solely to identify a supported YouTube playlist or video. The extension does not: * Inject content scripts into YouTube pages. * Scrape content from YouTube pages. * Monitor unrelated browser tabs. * Download video or audio files. * Store Google or YouTube OAuth credentials. TrackRescue uses a separate, revocable extension session. Connected browser sessions can be reviewed and revoked at any time from TrackRescue Settings. ## Requirements * Google Chrome 114 or newer. * A TrackRescue account. * A public or unlisted playlist for the free, read-only health check. * An active TrackRescue plan and a connected YouTube account for playlist protection, monitoring, scanning, cleanup, and repair features. * Permission to edit the playlist before TrackRescue can perform any confirmed changes on YouTube. ## Plans and Billing TrackRescue plans are purchased directly from TrackRescue. Google and the Chrome Web Store do not process TrackRescue subscriptions.
