XML Viewer Pro opens the XML already on your screen and makes it readable on this computer. Formatting, search, and save stay in Chrome. The file is not uploaded, and there is no account. Use it when Chrome shows a raw XML tree, one long line, or a file you do not want to paste into a website. It also opens feeds, schemas, stylesheets, and SVG drawings. Open a document - Click the toolbar button to open the XML in the current tab. - Right-click a page, a link, or selected XML and choose XML Viewer Pro. - Open a file from this computer, drop it on the page, or paste it. A full document formats when you paste it. - Open a web address after you allow that site. - Turn on “Open XML links automatically,” or leave one site in the normal browser. Ways to read the same file - Outline. Fold and unfold each part, and show only the levels you need. - Easy read. The text, with the tag name beside it. - Table. One row for each repeated item. Copy the table, or save it as CSV. - Formatted. Indented, colored XML. - One line. Compact XML for pasting into code. - JSON. The same data as JSON. Comments are left out. JSON can convert back to XML. - Map. How the parts connect. - Picture. An SVG file can show the drawing. Scripts in the file do not run. - Feed. An RSS or Atom file can show titles, dates, and links. Find, copy, and save - Find highlights matches and counts them. Replace can change one match or all of them. Undo puts the previous text back. - Search by path, for example //book[@id]. A search can match the tag name even when the file uses namespaces. - Copy the path, the element, the inside, or the text of a tag. - Copy and Save follow the view you are looking at: XML, JSON, or CSV. - Format rewrites the view. Back to original restores the file you opened. - A broken file shows the problem and the line. Also included - Compare with another file on this computer. - Apply a stylesheet from this computer. No stylesheet is fetched from the web. - Check element names against a schema from this computer. This does not prove the file is fully valid. - Double-click a value in Outline, Easy read, or Table to edit it. - A very large file is summarized, so the tab stays usable. - Light and dark mode. English and Spanish in the tool. - Summarize, Explain, and Ask use Chrome’s on-device model when that model is available. They stay off until it is. A picture of text can be read on this computer when the browser supports it. Privacy Nothing is uploaded. Settings and the file you are viewing stay in Chrome on this computer. The only network request is one you start: opening a web address, or reading a site after you allow it.
