Tab Thumbnails helps you manage crowded Chrome windows by turning every open tab in the current window into a clean visual grid. Open the extension to scan your tabs at a glance, identify the active tab, and switch or close tabs with fewer clicks. Key features • Visual tab overview View all tabs in the current window as thumbnail cards with page titles and favicons. Longer titles use up to two lines and adapt to the selected grid density. The active tab is clearly marked with a blue outline and a “Current tab” label. • Adjustable grid density Choose between two and six thumbnail cards per row in settings, balancing larger previews with a denser overview. • Fast cached previews Cached thumbnails load immediately when the popup opens, while the currently active tab is refreshed in the background. • Automatic thumbnail updates Thumbnail previews are updated when you activate a tab or when the active page finishes loading, helping the grid stay up to date during normal browsing. • Refresh all thumbnails Use the refresh button to recapture every tab in the current window. After the scan is complete, the extension restores the tab that was originally active. • Quick tab switching Click any thumbnail to jump directly to that tab. • Keyboard navigation Use the arrow keys to move through the visual grid, then press Enter to switch to the selected tab. Left and right continue naturally across rows, while up and down preserve the current column. Escape closes settings or the popup. • Optional letter and number shortcuts Enable this setting to show a letter or number on each thumbnail, then press the displayed key to switch directly. This feature is off by default. • Customizable extension shortcut By default, press Ctrl+Shift+E on Windows and Linux, or Command+Shift+E on macOS, to open the thumbnail grid. The keyboard settings page shows the current shortcut and links directly to Chrome’s Extension Shortcuts settings. • Fast tab closing Close a tab using the button in the top-left corner of its thumbnail card, or middle-click the thumbnail. • Light and dark appearance The popup automatically follows your system’s light or dark color preference. • Multiple interface languages The interface is available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, German, and Polish, following your Chrome UI language. Privacy and compatibility Thumbnail images, layout and shortcut preferences, and related tab data are stored locally in Chrome storage. No account is required, and the extension uses a native popup without injecting interface elements into webpages. If Chrome cannot capture a page, the extension displays a neutral placeholder and the page favicon when available.
