Telli.sh helps you read and write across languages without leaving the page you are using. It keeps the original text visible, adds a translation near it, and gives you a way to translate your own replies from the same page. The extension is designed for text-heavy pages where conversations, comments, mail, issue threads, Q&A posts, profile fields, and other writing areas change while you work. On explicitly supported sites, Telli.sh can translate visible messages and posts inline. On other pages, you can turn on input-field translation as an optional feature and translate the text inside focused fields. Reading translations: - Shows translated text beside or below the original instead of replacing it. - Supports inline, hover, toggle, comment-style, and bilingual display modes. - Skips text that is already in your reading language when it can be detected. - Skips emoji-only content, bare links, and other low-value text before sending a request. - Adds a refresh button to individual translated items so expanded or changed text can be translated again without reloading the whole page. - Rescans dynamic pages so newly loaded conversations and comments can be picked up after navigation or scrolling. Writing translated replies: - The floating reply panel lets you type in your own language and preview the translated result before sending. - Preview mode keeps the translation editable, so you can adjust wording before it goes into the page. - Some sites use insert-only behavior for safety, such as mail compose windows, so the extension inserts the translated text but does not automatically send it. - For conversation pages, the outgoing target can follow the detected partner language when available, with a fallback language when there is not enough context yet. Input-field translation for other sites: - Input-field translation is off by default. - When enabled, it can attach a small language button to focused text fields on regular web pages. - The default target can follow the current site's language, and you can choose a fixed target language in the popup when needed. - You can exclude the current site from the popup without disabling the feature everywhere. - This optional mode requests broad site access only after you turn it on, because the extension must run on the page to detect focused fields and place the button. Language coverage: Source language detection is automatic. You do not need to select the source language for incoming text or input-field translation. Target-language coverage depends on the translation provider you choose. On-device, cloud, self-hosted, and local AI providers support different target-language ranges; if the selected provider cannot handle the chosen target, Telli.sh shows a provider-specific error instead of silently failing. Translation providers: Telli.sh lets you choose the provider model that fits your needs. You can use a simple cloud translation path, a configured API provider, a self-hosted endpoint, a local AI service, or Chrome's built-in on-device translation when it is available in your browser. Provider settings stay under your control in the extension options. Privacy and control: - Text is sent only to the translation provider you select. - API keys are stored in local extension storage and are not synced through your browser account. - Local and on-device providers can keep translation on your machine when the selected provider and browser support it. - The extension does not replace the page's original text, so you can compare the translation with the source at any time. - Site enablement, display mode, provider choice, language settings, preview behavior, and input-field exclusions can be changed from the popup. Typical use cases: - Read multilingual conversations while keeping the original wording visible. - Reply in another language from a chat, comment, issue, or mail composer. - Translate profile text, support forms, short messages, and other focused input fields on sites that are not explicitly supported. - Refresh a single translated item after a long message expands or the page updates part of the text.
