**X User Remarks — Private Notes and Categories for X Accounts** X User Remarks helps you organize and recognize accounts on X (formerly Twitter) by adding your own private categories and notes. Instead of trying to remember who every account belongs to or why you followed them, you can attach personal context directly to their profiles and see it while browsing X. **Features** - **Private account notes:** Add and edit your own notes for X accounts. - **Custom categories:** Assign categories to accounts to organize them according to your interests. - **Notes alongside usernames:** View your labels when browsing supported X pages, including posts, replies, profiles, search results, and notifications. - **Flexible display:** Choose whether to display your private note instead of the original display name or show both. - **Centralized management:** Search, edit, and delete saved notes and categories from the extension's management page. - **Backup and recovery:** Export and import your notes and categories as a JSON file. Local recovery snapshots help protect against accidental changes or data loss. **Privacy and data storage** Your notes and categories are primarily stored in your browser's local extension storage. The extension does not automatically upload new private notes to a developer-operated server or require a separate account. Some display preferences use Chrome's synchronization storage, and historical data from older versions may remain in Chrome Sync. Notes displayed on X webpages become part of the visible page and may be accessible to scripts running on that page. Do not store passwords or other secrets in your notes. **Important limitations** Notes are associated with X usernames (@handles). Account renames are not automatically verified. Automatic cloud backup and integration with the native X mobile app are not available in this version. X User Remarks is an independent browser extension.
