X Post Local Time

Show X (Twitter) posts in the author's local time, plus a live clock for accounts you follow. Time zones auto-detected.

X shows every post with a relative timestamp: "2h", "Sep 8". That tells you roughly how recent something is, but never the actual time — and nothing at all about the time zone of the person who posted it. X Post Local Time replaces that with real time. And for the accounts you care about, it also shows their local time, so you know when they are actually posting. WHAT IT DOES - Real time instead of "2h" The relative timestamp is replaced with your own local time: 14:30 for posts from today, 09/10 14:30 for earlier this year, 2025/03/04 18:00 for older ones. Nothing to configure — this part works the moment you install it. - The author's local time, for the accounts you track Add an account and a second line appears under its posts showing the time where the author is, for example "02:30 author". You can tell at a glance whether a post was written during their working day, in the middle of their night, or yesterday in their time zone. - A live clock for everyone you track The extension keeps a list of your tracked accounts with their location, time zone, current local time (updated every second), weekday and date, and UTC offset — so you know whether someone is likely to be awake before you reply. WHO IT IS FOR - Anyone following people in other time zones who has to guess what "2h" means - People coordinating with remote teammates, creators or customers abroad - Researchers and journalists who need the actual time of a post, not an approximation - Anyone who has replied to a post only to realise it was days old WHY THIS ONE - No setup for the core feature. Replacing the relative time works immediately; the author's time zone is extra, not a prerequisite. - Honest about uncertainty. The time zone comes from the location the author wrote on their profile. If there is none, the extension says so and lets you pick a zone yourself. If the location only names a country that spans several time zones (the US, Russia, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia), it asks instead of guessing a city that could be hours off. - It looks like X. Injected text borrows X's own typography and colours, so it follows X's light and dark themes and reads as part of the timeline rather than as a layer on top of it. - Add accounts from where you already are: type a username, paste a profile or post link, or use the Add button that appears in X's own account hover card. - Available in English and Chinese, with in-page text following X's own language. - Nothing is uploaded. Tracked accounts and settings are stored in your browser. The extension contacts no server of its own, includes no analytics, and loads no remote code. - Minimal permissions: local storage, and script access to x.com and twitter.com only. HOW IT WORKS When you add an account, the extension opens the author's profile in a background tab using the X session you are already signed into, reads the location field, turns it into a time zone, and closes the tab. Time zones you set by hand are never overwritten by a later refresh. NOTES - You need to be signed in to X: profile pages are read with your own session. - The time zone is inferred from a free-text field. Common cities and countries are covered; unusual spellings may need a manual zone. - It only changes what you see in your own browser.
