X-Alted – Customize and enhance X (Twitter)

27 features, 95 settings: cinema mode, video controls, page backgrounds, quick feed refresh, picture zoom, hide clutter, and more.

CINEMA MODE • One click and the page dims around the video while it grows big. Adjust the video's size and the dimmed background. VIDEO CONTROLS • Finer speed control, volume boost, skip, frame by frame, screenshot, and cinema mode, in one small bar that appears when you point at a video and fades away like X's own controls. Place the bar at the bottom, top, left, or right of the video, with adjustable size and background opacity. • Change the volume with your mouse wheel over any video. • Keyboard shortcuts that act only on the video you're watching. • Save GIFs as MP4 or GIF with one click. CLICK TO PAUSE, NOT TO SHOP • Stop ad videos from opening new tabs when you only meant to pause them. Clicking a video in an ad plays or pauses it instead of opening the advertiser's website. The advertiser's link below the video still works. BACKGROUND AND APPEARANCE • 𝕏 took away its Dim theme in 2026. X-Alted brings it back, and more, for both light and dark themes: colors, gradients, a selection of 32 patterns, or a picture as 𝕏's background. • Pick one of fourteen 4K background images, or use your own. With built-in dimming adjustments, and text automatically adjusted to stay readable. • Pick any accent color, beyond X's six. REFRESH, REFRESHED • Point at "For you" or "Following" and a Refresh button appears under it, to load new posts whenever you want. So you can also hide the blue "See new posts" pill button that floats over the feed. • Make x.com open on Following, a pinned list, or the feed you used last. MORE GIFS, PLUS MEMES • A new button in the post box with the KLIPY library (optional). IMAGE CONTROLS • Hover zoom: point at a picture in the timeline to see it enlarged. Roll the wheel to flip through multiple pics in a post. • Magnify: click an image to zoom to full resolution and pan around, to see details or read small text. • Save images at full size, up to twice as big as the copy you get with right-click "Save image as". HIDE CLUTTER • Switch off right-column boxes like sports scores, Who to follow, and Live on X, and keep them from coming back. • Hide X's "More From This Author" and "Discover more" blocks in a post's replies.
