Highlights and notes that survive when the page changes. Most web highlighters quietly lose your notes when an article is revised, documentation is updated, or a paper gets a new version. WWM (WorldWideMemo) is built around one job: keeping your annotations attached to the right text, even after the page changes. WHY INSTALL WWM • Your notes stay where they belong. Every time you revisit a page, WWM finds each annotation again: unchanged text is restored instantly, moved text is found again, and lightly edited sentences are followed automatically. • It never guesses. If WWM is not sure where an annotation belongs, it asks you ("Review") instead of putting it in the wrong place. If the text was removed, the annotation is kept under "Not found", so your note is never lost. • Private by design. Your annotations are stored only in your browser. No account, no server, no analytics. FEATURES • Highlight in 4 colors, underline, bold, and add notes to any text you can select. • Click an annotation to change its color or style, or to edit its note. Deleted something by mistake? Undo it. • Side panel: every annotation on the page with its status, a list of all annotated pages (click one to jump to it, even if it is already open), and undo / redo for your edits. • Organize annotated pages with labels (several per page, your own colors and order), rename pages, search titles, addresses, quotes and notes, and filter by notes, items that need attention, or PDFs. • PDFs, including arXiv papers: open them in the built-in WWM PDF viewer to annotate. Links, zoom, table of contents, page navigation, download and print work as you expect. PDFs you have annotated reopen in WWM automatically. • Works around sites with their own toolbar: drag the WWM toolbar, note editor or annotation popup out of the way, switch to a small icon, or annotate from the side panel only. • Turn WWM off with one switch, or only on sites where you don't want it. Your annotations are kept. • Keyboard shortcuts (Alt+Shift+H / N / U) and a right-click menu. • Export all your annotations as JSON. • English and Korean interface. COMING NEXT • More tools for research: export your annotated papers and pages, for example as Markdown for Obsidian or Notion. WWM is actively developed. New features are announced in the release notes when they ship. PRIVACY WWM reads page text on your device only to find your annotations again. It stores only the text you selected, a short surrounding excerpt, your note, the page address and title, and the labels and page names you add.
