Overview

Shorten current Wikimedia/Wikipedia URL to w.wiki and copy it.

This extension makes it easy to create short, official w.wiki links for any Wikimedia project page, including Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wiktionary, and more. Instead of copying long, hard-to-share URLs, just click the extension button or use the right-click context menu. The extension will contact the official Wikimedia URL Shortener service on Meta-Wiki, generate a valid w.wiki link, and copy it directly to your clipboard. You’ll also see a simple notification confirming that the short link has been created. Key features: • Shorten any Wikipedia or Wikimedia project URL to a compact w.wiki link. • One-click toolbar button and context menu integration for quick access. • Automatic copy to clipboard so the short link is ready to paste. • Clean confirmation notifications. • Works only with official Wikimedia Foundation projects, ensuring safe and predictable results. • No data collection, tracking, or analytics — the extension does not store or share any personal information. Single purpose: This extension exists solely to generate w.wiki links for Wikimedia project pages. It does not interact with any other sites or services.
