Install Write Notes from the Chrome Web Store. 2. Click the extension icon. 3. Create a new note or reopen one you already have. 4. Switch between Note, Draw, and Nodes inside the floating window. 5. Drag and resize freely. Change skin and font from the style tray. 6. Use “Open notes board” when you’re on a page that can’t host floating notes (for example some chrome:// pages). 7. Export when you want a backup or something to share. Import when you receive a zip. Tips: • On restricted browser pages, use the Notes Board from the popup. • Hold Ctrl / ⌘ to multi-select nodes, then Link or Delete. • Shift+drag between nodes to connect them quickly. • Use the eraser in Draw mode to clean strokes — it removes ink, not just covers it. ━━━━━━━━━━━ ✦ WHO IT’S FOR ━━━━━━━━━━━ • Students taking notes while reading articles or PDFs in the browser • Writers and researchers collecting quotes and outlines beside sources • Designers and builders sketching ideas next to references • Anyone who wants sticky notes that don’t live in a separate app ━━━━━━━━━━━ ✦ PRIVACY POLICY ━━━━━━━━━━━ Your notes belong to you. • Write Notes stores notes locally in your browser using Chrome’s storage APIs (chrome.storage.local), including unlimitedStorage so larger drawings and images can be saved on your device. • We do not operate a server that receives your note content. • We do not sell, rent, or share your notes or personal data with third parties for advertising. • Notes are not uploaded to the developer by the extension itself. • If you export a note file, that file is created on your device and only goes where you choose to save or send it. • If you later use an optional donate or external link (for example a donation page), that site has its own privacy policy; the extension only opens the link you choose. • The extension requests access to pages so floating notes can appear on websites you visit. It does not read your browsing history for analytics or tracking. • You can delete individual notes from the popup, or remove the extension to clear its local data according to Chrome’s normal uninstall behavior. If you have privacy questions, contact the developer using the support email listed on the Chrome Web Store listing. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✦ PERMISSIONS — WHY WE ASK ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Write Notes uses only the permissions it needs to work: • storage — Save and load your notes, drawings, nodes, positions, and settings on this device. • unlimitedStorage — Allow larger notes and drawings (images, long canvases) without hitting small storage quotas. • activeTab — When you click the extension icon, open or refresh notes on the tab you’re using. • tabs — Detect the current tab so we can open notes there, or open the Notes Board / Import page when a page cannot host floating notes. • scripting — Inject the note UI into normal web pages so notes can float above the content you’re viewing. • Host access (content scripts on web pages) — Required so a note can appear on the sites you browse. The extension does not use this to scrape or sell page content.
