Overview
Let websites you approve run your Writ functions on this computer, through Writ desktop. Your passwords never reach the site.
Writ lets a website you approve run your Writ functions on this computer, through the Writ desktop app. A site that works with Writ can read data or do a task for you on another website, on a device on your local network, or in an app you are signed in to. The work runs on your own computer, with your own network and your own saved logins. The site gets the result, never your passwords or sessions. You stay in control: Nothing happens until you allow a site. The consent window shows who the site is, what it would run, what it sends back, and where it reaches. Functions that change data ask you before each run, unless you choose otherwise. Writ starts only when you say so. A site that needs Writ while it is closed asks you first, unless you ticked "Start Writ when this site needs it" when you connected it. The toolbar button lists every connected site. One click disconnects a site, and can remove what it installed. The extension only passes approved requests between the page and Writ desktop on the same computer. It reads no page content, sends nothing to its developer, and runs no remote code. Requires the Writ desktop app (https://usewrit.app/desktop), on Windows, macOS or Linux.
