WP Guard for Chrome is the browser companion to WP Guard (wpguard.ai), the managed WordPress security and maintenance service. It works in two ways. WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT: A FREE SECURITY CHECK Open any WordPress website, click the WP Guard icon and choose "Check this website". The extension looks at the site's public pages the way any visitor's browser could, works out the WordPress version and the plugins and themes it can see, and tells you which of them have known vulnerabilities or are out of date. It also checks the basics: HTTPS and the security headers the site sends. Nothing runs until you click, the page address is never sent anywhere, and the results stay in your browser. From there you can start a free trial, create an account or ask Matter Solutions, a related company, for help with the site. WITH A WP GUARD ACCOUNT: YOUR SITES IN THE TOOLBAR - See a site's status, pending updates and recent alerts as soon as you open one of your sites - Update outdated or vulnerable plugins and themes, with live progress - Approve or reject update runs that are waiting for a go-ahead, straight from a desktop notification - Watch running updates across all your sites and get notified when they finish or fail - Log in to a site's wp-admin through WP Guard, back it up, clear its cache or run its update schedule - Search all your sites from the toolbar, or type "wpg" and a site name in the address bar - Right-click any page to turn it into a WP Guard task - Optionally show WP Guard's status on your own sites' wp-admin Plugins page PRIVACY FIRST The extension matches the page you are on against your own site list inside your browser, so the pages you visit are never sent anywhere. It reads no website by default; the free check runs only on the tab you click it on, and the wp-admin view only runs on sites you allow. No advertising, tracking or analytics.
