Worth It?
Overview
Before you buy, see how many hours you had to work to afford it. The simplest way to spend less.
A €90 jacket costs €90... or it costs 2h30 of sitting in meetings, dealing with your boss, commuting — depending on what you earn. Worth It? adds one number next to every price: how many hours you had to work to afford it. That's the number that makes you think twice. And if you still end up at checkout, Worth It? intercepts the moment you click "Pay" and asks: "You're about to spend X hours of your life. Is it worth it?" Not a lecture, but an honest question before the order goes through. Not a manifest, but a small re-thinking of our consumerist society. ────────────────────────── HOW IT WORKS ────────────────────────── 1. Enter your hourly rate (or annual salary + hours/week) once in settings. 2. Browse normally. Every price on shopping sites shows a small badge: ≈ 2h, ≈ 3 days… 3. Click Pay at checkout — Worth It? pauses and asks you to confirm. Cancel = nothing happens. Confirm = order goes through as normal. ────────────────────────── YOUR PRIVACY, GUARANTEED ────────────────────────── Your salary is sensitive data. Worth It? stores it locally on your device (chrome.storage.local) — never transmitted, never collected, never seen by anyone, including the developer. Zero network requests. No backend. No analytics. No accounts. Works entirely offline. ────────────────────────── SUPPORTED CURRENCIES ────────────────────────── USD · EUR · CHF · GBP · CAD · AUD · SEK · NOK · DKK · HUF ────────────────────────── SUPPORTED LANGUAGES ────────────────────────── English · Français · Deutsch · Italiano · Español · Português · Nederlands · Svenska · Norsk · Dansk · Suomi · Polski · Čeština · Română · Magyar · Türkçe ────────────────────────── OPEN SOURCE ────────────────────────── The full source code is public on GitHub. Read it, audit it, fork it.
