World Cup 2026 Companion helps football fans follow the FIFA World Cup 2026 without leaving the browser. See today’s matches, upcoming fixtures, group standings, venues, and get optional reminders for your favorite teams. ⚠️ UNOFFICIAL FAN EXTENSION This extension is NOT affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by FIFA or any official tournament organizer. It is an independent project for fans. KEY FEATURES • Today & Upcoming - quick view of matches happening now and coming soon • Full calendar - browse the tournament schedule by date • Groups & standings - group tables calculated locally from match results • Favorite teams - star teams and filter matches that matter to you • Match reminders - optional Chrome notifications before kickoff (15 min - 24 h) • Local timezone - kickoff times shown in your timezone • Side panel - keep the tournament open while you browse (Chrome Side Panel) • Offline-friendly - bundled fallback data when APIs are unavailable • 38 in-app languages - switch language in Settings HOW IT WORKS The extension fetches public sports data from third-party APIs (OpenFootball, TheSportsDB, WorldCup2026 Community API) and caches it locally in your browser. No account is required. No data is sent to the developer. PRIVACY • No personal data collection • No analytics or tracking • Settings and cache stored only in chrome.storage.local on your device • Full privacy policy included in the extension package OPTIONAL GOOGLE SEARCH WIDGET A small match widget for Google Search results is available but DISABLED by default. Enable it only in Settings => Integrations if you want it. It runs locally and does not send your search queries anywhere. PERMISSIONS (why we need them) • storage - save your preferences, favorites, and cached match data • alarms - schedule optional match reminder notifications • notifications - show kickoff reminders you opt into • sidePanel - open the tournament view in Chrome’s side panel Made for fans who want a simple, fast World Cup 2026 companion in Chrome.
