Tells the Workstate AI app which website is in front while you are checked in. Never search words, page content or background tabs.

Workstate AI for Chrome and Edge is the companion to the Workstate AI desktop app, which your employer uses to record working time on work computers. It does nothing on its own: it needs the Workstate AI desktop app installed and signed in on the same computer. WHAT IT DOES While you are checked in to work, the extension tells the desktop app which website is in front, so your activity record can say "github.com" instead of only "Google Chrome". If your employer has switched on page addresses, it also sends the path of the page, for example "github.com/acme/project/pull/42". WHAT IT NEVER DOES • It never records what you search for. Everything after a "?" or "#" in an address is removed inside your browser before anything is sent, so a Google search is recorded as "google.com/search". • It never reads page content, what you type, passwords, cookies, browsing history or downloads. • It never looks at tabs you are not using. • It does not run in incognito windows unless you choose to allow it there. • It sends nothing while you are checked out or on a break. • It makes no network requests. It talks only to the Workstate AI app on your own computer. • It shows no ads and changes nothing on the pages you visit. WHO SEES THE INFORMATION The desktop app sends your activity record to your employer's HRMS workspace. Your employer's HR administrators can see it, and so can you for your own record. It is not sold, not used for advertising and not shared outside your employer's workspace. HOW LONG IT IS KEPT Page addresses are deleted after 15 days. Site names are kept for the period your employer sets, 90 days by default. YOUR CHOICES You are told what is recorded before you connect a computer, and again in the desktop app before page addresses are switched on. You can remove this extension at any time from your browser's extensions page; websites are then no longer recorded from that browser.
