Workspaces — Business Switcher
Overview
A start screen with clock, search, and shortcuts, plus a business rail for tabs, logins, tasks, and calendar.
Workspaces — Business Switcher replaces Chrome’s new tab with a start screen, and puts a business rail on the pages you visit. The start screen shows a clock and the date, a search box, and shortcut tiles you add. You can change the background — aurora, a color, a gradient, or your own image — and the size and color of the clock and date. Google Tasks and Google Calendar sit on the same screen. Pick which calendars to show, then add and edit events. Task reminders are optional. The rail switches businesses. Each business keeps its own tab group. Optionally, a business can keep its own site logins on this device. Add the sites you want. Logins are not uploaded. Drive backup, also optional, saves businesses and settings into your Google account’s private app storage. Cookie and site-storage snapshots stay on this device. On a Mac, a business can also launch an app you name. That needs a local helper you install yourself. Nothing is sent to a server run by the developer. Google data is used only after you connect it, and only to show and edit your tasks, calendar, and backup.
