Overview

Quick access to your WordPress sites, content editing, and developer tools. Tuck away the admin bar.

WordPress Browser Extension detects WordPress sites and moves useful site-management shortcuts into your browser toolbar. Keep pages clear of the WordPress admin bar when you need to see them as visitors do, while retaining quick access to the tools you use. It also includes helpful tools for developers and testers. Key Features - Detect WordPress sites as you browse and, when recognized, their hosting provider. The toolbar icon shows whether the current site is WordPress and whether you are signed in, without badges or notifications. - Persistently hide or show the WordPress admin bar on any WordPress site. Hide it by default in the extension's settings. - Open the editor for the exact post, page, taxonomy, or template you are viewing. On block themes, template-backed pages open in the Site Editor. Or use the "New" menu to quickly create new content. - Quickly jump to the home page or admin dashboard of any site you manage. A locally stored launcher keeps track of WordPress sites you've signed into. - Tools for developers and testers: highlight block boundaries on the front end, open a mobile-sized preview window, reload any page with a cache-busting URL, clear current-site data while preserving WordPress login cookies, and toggle Query Monitor when it is available. Privacy The extension works locally in your browser. It stores preferences, a limited per-site detection cache, and your My Sites list locally on your device. It does not include analytics, telemetry, advertising, developer accounts, or developer-controlled servers, and it does not sell or share user data. Requests made to provide WordPress functionality go to the WordPress site you are using; a site icon may be loaded from the URL supplied by that site. The extension is developed in the open under the WordPress GitHub organization: https://github.com/WordPress/browser-extension
