Overview

Bypasses browser CORS and Private Network Access limitations for WireShed webhook forwarding.

WireShed Interceptor connects your WireShed dashboard directly to your local development environment, letting you capture, inspect, and debug incoming cloud webhooks on localhost with zero port-forwarding. Modern browsers enforce strict Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) and Private Network Access (PNA) security policies that block web dashboards from sending HTTP requests directly to private IP addresses like http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1. WireShed Interceptor runs transparently in the background to authorize these local requests, allowing your browser to act as a secure, high-speed webhook bridge. KEY FEATURES • Zero Port-Forwarding: No need to open firewall ports, set up complex SSH tunnels, or install native terminal daemons. • Automatic CORS & PNA Handling: Modifies preflight and access-control headers on the fly so webhook POST requests reach your local server seamlessly. • Real-Time Webhook Forwarding: Delivers payloads from Stripe, Shopify, GitHub, Twilio, and custom providers to localhost within milliseconds. • Live Request Inspection: View incoming requests, HTTP status codes, latency timings, and delivery logs directly from the extension popup. • 1-Click Payload Replay: Re-send historical webhook events to your local API with original headers and exact raw bytes. HOW TO USE 1. Open your WireShed dashboard in Chrome. 2. Create or select an endpoint and configure your local forward target (for example: http://localhost:3000/api/webhooks). 3. Ensure the WireShed Interceptor extension is installed and active. 4. Trigger a webhook from your external provider (or send a test payload via curl). 5. Watch the webhook arrive in real time on your local server. PERMISSIONS & PRIVACY WireShed Interceptor is built by developers, for developers: • No Tracking or Telemetry: We do not collect personal data, browsing history, or analytics. • 100% Local Execution: Webhook payloads stream directly between your WireShed instance and your local server. • Open Source: Auditable code hosted publicly on GitHub.
