Wirelet: Modify HTTP Headers & User-Agent Switcher

Edit request and response headers per site or tab. No site access at install, no account, no tracking. Imports ModHeader files.

Wirelet adds, changes or removes the HTTP headers of your requests and responses on the sites you choose, and can switch the user agent. Five things you can check yourself - No site access at install: Wirelet asks your browser for access to a site only when you switch on a profile for it, and you can say no. - No connection to any server: your profiles and settings stay in your browser's storage, and this version sends nothing anywhere. - A wrong entry is refused without breaking your rules: an invalid header name or value is flagged and never sent, and the rules already in place keep working. - A common task in 3 actions: on the site you are on, choose "Create a profile", type the header's name, then its value. - Full keyboard: every action works with the keyboard alone. What Wirelet does - Header profiles: set, append or remove request headers; set or remove response headers. Switch each profile and each header on or off. When two profiles change the same header, the one higher in the list wins. - Sites: all sites, or only the sites you list (a domain, a host with its port, or a URL pattern), with exceptions. - Paste a header copied from the developer tools, or a curl command: its headers are added to the profile. - Values that look like secrets (tokens, keys, cookies) are masked on screen. - "Test a URL" tells whether a profile applies to an address. - The number of modified requests shows on the toolbar icon. A switch, or a keyboard shortcut, pauses everything. - User agent (Pro): presets for common browsers and systems, or your own value, with the matching Client Hints. - This tab only (Pro): a profile can apply to one tab. - English and French; light, dark or system theme. Free and Pro - Free: - up to 3 profiles and up to 10 active headers in total; - sites and exceptions for each profile; - headers changed on pages, frames and fetch calls, and response headers; - profile import and export; - the number of modified requests on the icon, and an alert when Wirelet can't access a site; - pause everything with a keyboard shortcut. - Pro: unlimited profiles and active headers; the user agent (HTTP headers, with Client Hints); profiles that apply to one tab only. - Free during early access. Everything the free plan includes (3 profiles, 10 active headers, response headers, import and export) stays free for good; Pro features will become paid later. Import your profiles Import a file exported by Wirelet, or the JSON export of another header extension. A report says what was kept, adapted, ignored or switched off; nothing you already have is changed or deleted. Questions - Why does Wirelet ask for access to a site? Your browser applies an extension's header changes only on the sites it may access. Wirelet asks for the sites of your profiles, or for all sites if you choose. - Why is a header missing from a request? Usually the site is not allowed yet: the profile shows "Blocked", and "Allow" fixes it. Otherwise, a response that a page's service worker serves from its cache never reaches the network, so no header can change: reload while bypassing the cache. - Does the user agent change for scripts too? No. Wirelet changes the User-Agent header and the Client Hints the server receives; scripts in the page still see your browser's own values. - Does Wirelet work in private windows? Only if you allow it in your browser's extension settings. - Can I get a deleted profile back? Yes, with "Undo" within 5 seconds. - Another header extension changes the same header: which wins? The extension installed most recently: your browser applies its changes first. Turn the other one off on the sites you test. Privacy No account, no ads, no tracking.
