Overview
Dictate into any chat box with Windy Word, and keep every word in your own archive.
Every chat box is growing its own microphone button. Press theirs and your words stay on that platform. Press the Windy Word button and the same words land in your own archive, on your own computer — one place, for life. Windy Word puts a small button with its logo beside the message box wherever you type — in chat apps, web mail, forums, support desks and anywhere else with a text box. Click it, speak, click again. The transcript is written straight into the box you were typing in. Nothing is pasted at a random window and nothing is typed on your behalf. Transcription happens in the Windy Word desktop app, on your machine, with on-device models. This extension is the on-ramp: it talks only to that app, through the browser's own native-messaging channel. It never sends your audio or text anywhere itself. Requires the free Windy Word desktop app for macOS, Windows or Linux: https://windyword.ai - Works beside the site's own microphone, or on sites that have none (job applications, contact forms, marketplace messages). - Never appears on password, one-time-code or card fields. - Works on every site out of the box, so it is simply there when you need it. Turn it off for any individual site from the options page.
