Overview

A new tab for discovering articles from Wikipedia, Hacker News, and your own notes.

A quiet new tab for curious minds. Wikinote turns the small moment of opening a new tab into a quiet encounter with something worth reading. Each time you open a new tab, Wikinote shows one article, story, or note — chosen at random from Wikipedia, Hacker News, or your own self-hosted Memos. Sources Wikipedia — random articles across 40 languages Hacker News — stories selected from the community’s top stories Memos — your own self-hosted personal notes, optional and private Themes Waves · Ripples · Mist · Solar · Stars · Paper · Mountains · Bamboo · Ocean · Rainbow · Snow The Solar theme shifts with the time of day, from morning light to evening and night, quietly following your rhythm. Wikinote is built around chance, not recommendation. It does not learn your habits, rank a feed, or try to keep you scrolling. You can read it, skip it, or move on. Your settings and saved items stay local. Wikipedia and Hacker News use public APIs. Memos connects directly to your own instance. No backend proxy, no ads, no tracking. Open source, MIT licensed: https://github.com/covee-studio/wikinote If Wikinote makes your browser feel a little more spacious, share it with someone who might like it. Word of mouth is the only algorithm here.
