Wider Gemini is a lightweight Chrome extension that improves the reading and interaction experience on Google Gemini. If you feel Gemini’s default conversation area is too narrow, wastes screen space on large monitors, or makes long code blocks hard to read, Wider Gemini gives you more control over the layout. Core features: Custom conversation width Use either fixed pixel widths or responsive percentage widths. You can set Gemini to a specific width such as 1000px, or make it adapt to the current tab width with values like 70%, 90%, or 100%. Separate width presets Built-in presets include Narrow, Default, Wider, Ultra, and Max. Pixel and percentage modes use separate preset values, and you can edit preset names and values to match your own screen setup. Reading density controls Use the compactness slider to increase the information density of Gemini responses. For finer control, expand the advanced settings to adjust line height and paragraph spacing separately. Automatic code wrapping Enable code wrapping to make long code lines wrap inside the code block, reducing horizontal scrolling and improving readability. Consistent layout targets Width settings are applied across key Gemini areas, including messages, the input area, tables, and code blocks, so the main reading experience stays consistent. Saved preferences Your width unit, width value, presets, reading density, and code wrapping preference are saved in the browser and restored the next time you open Gemini. Privacy friendly Wider Gemini only adjusts page styling and layout on gemini.google.com. It does not collect, read, or upload your chat content. The extension only uses storage permission to save your settings.
