Whistle Unsafe Product is a UK-first safe shopping companion for recognised marketplaces. Its safe online shopping tools support safer shopping online by helping you check before checkout, read category guidance and written review evidence, and flag a listing that may raise safety, authenticity or compliance concerns for controlled human review. CHECK BEFORE CHECKOUT • See before-you-buy questions for the product category. • Keep the exact marketplace item, model and selected variant visible. • Open relevant safety notices and current recalls on FOLO-UP. • Save your personal checklist progress locally for that offer. REVIEW THE REVIEW EVIDENCE • Read captured 1★–2★ written complaints first. • Separate product wording from delivery or customer-service complaints. • Surface possible failure, hazard or injury wording inside 3★–5★ reviews. • Filter the written reviews actually captured and search for a word or criterion. • See what was read, retained or unavailable instead of treating missing evidence as zero problems. Review analysis uses only written evidence exposed by the marketplace pages available to the extension. It is not every marketplace review, a product safety score or proof that a product is safe or unsafe. FLAG THE SELECTED LISTING Flag possible unsafe products, dangerous products, fake products or counterfeit goods, plus listings with missing traceability, non-compliant labelling or no compliance information. The Public report form offers four routes: • Product not purchased — design, materials or construction appear unsafe • Product not purchased — product seems to be a fake, copy or imitation • Product already purchased — item broke or caused injury • Other — with a short explanation Whistle refreshes the selected offer before a signal or full-report handoff. Amazon reports the selected ASIN. Other supported marketplaces attach the identified item and any visible selected option while their intake record may remain listing-level. MARKETPLACE COVERAGE • Amazon UK — category guidance, written-review analysis and selected-ASIN reporting • eBay UK — category guidance, item-specific feedback analysis and item reporting • AliExpress — category guidance, rendered-review analysis and item reporting where identifiable • Temu — category guidance and item reporting where identifiable; review analysis is not yet available • Alibaba — category guidance and stable product-detail reporting; review analysis is not yet available A user can also teach a new HTTPS marketplace by granting access to that exact host and providing visible title and item-ID selectors. This enables category guidance and reporting for the captured item, not an unvalidated review reader. PRIVACY AND LIMITATIONS Category matching and review triage run locally. Captured Amazon written reviews are stored only in this extension's browser storage for up to 30 days, with bounded product and review limits. Review text is not uploaded by the review analyser. Automatic listing-status checks are off until the user opts in. A listing snapshot and selected concern are sent to the FOLO-UP intake only when the user deliberately reports. The optional full report is a separate step using a short-lived secure handoff. Whistle reports are unverified listing concerns for evidence capture and controlled human review. Whistle does not declare a product safe, dangerous, counterfeit or non-compliant. A zero report count or an empty review group is not evidence of safety.
