Whence
Overview
Hover any value on a page to see whence it came: the API request, JSON field and list item behind it.
Whence shows you where the data on a web page comes from. Hover over any value, like a price, a name or a status, and Whence points to the API request that returned it and the exact field in the response. Click a button and it shows which requests that click made, with background traffic kept separate. It’s built for developers, testers and anyone debugging a web app who wants to skip digging through the Network tab. Main features: Hover any value to see the request, list item and JSON field it came from, and why it matched. See which requests each click made. Analytics, polling and other extensions are set aside. Inspect any request with its response, then copy it, copy it as cURL, or export it as JSON or a HAR file. Works with most modern websites and web apps, without changing your code. Privacy: Everything stays in your browser. There are no servers, accounts or analytics. Captured data lives only in the tab’s memory and is gone when you close the tab. It only runs on sites you turn it on for. Tokens, cookies and passwords are redacted in copies and exports by default. Whence is free.
