Overview
Weld Australia extension is to get system display properties
The Weld Australia Online Exam Integrity Extension is a required Chrome extension for students participating in Weld Australia’s secure online assessments. It ensures exam integrity by recording the student’s screen and webcam video during active sessions, while also detecting and preventing unauthorized setups like multiple monitors or insufficient screen resolution. This tool supports invigilators with real-time and recorded monitoring capabilities, helping enforce compliance in both live and recorded exam environments. The tool automatically records both the student’s screen and webcam video during the exam, using integrated technologies. This helps verify academic honesty and maintain exam integrity. Students are prompted to install the extension before beginning an exam. If not already installed, they won’t be able to proceed until it is. This ensures consistent monitoring across all participants. It actively checks for multiple displays and alerts invigilators if additional monitors are detected. The extension only runs during scheduled exam sessions. It initialises when the exam begins and terminates afterward, ensuring minimal interference outside exam contexts. The extension communicates with Weld Australia’s backend systems including an AWS-hosted server, a Python-based cron job running on EC2 for session management, and a custom-built recording pipeline. The tool is strictly used for exam proctoring. No personal data is collected or stored outside the context of scheduled assessments.
