WebTrustScore™ — Site Trust Check
Overview
Know before you trust. One clear 0–1000 trust score for any website, with the evidence behind it. Free, no account needed.
Before you enter a card number, sign in, or buy from a site you don't know — check it. WebTrustScore gives any website one clear score from 0 to 1000, so you can see how far to trust it in seconds. Open the side panel, type a domain, or score the tab you're already on. Free, no account required. WHAT THE SCORE IS BUILT FROM Every score comes from seven evidence categories: • Security posture — HTTPS enforcement, TLS validity, security headers • Content trustworthiness — deceptive claims, credential traps, dark patterns • Ownership identity — registrar records, organization consistency, contact paths • Reputation history — domain age and registration stability • External reputation — independent threat and authority signals • Consumer transparency — privacy policy, terms, contact page, pricing honesty • Operational resilience — nameservers, DNSSEC, delivery infrastructure Plus a malware and phishing check, and overlays for parked, for-sale, or unreachable sites. WHY THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT • Reproducible — the same domain and model version always produce the same score. • Not for sale — a site cannot pay to raise its score. There is no "fix your rating" upsell. • Shows its work — caps and flags are explained in plain language, so you can see what the score reacted to instead of trusting a number. WHAT YOUR BROWSER SEES Many sites block automated scanners — but your own browser sees the real page. Click "What does my browser see?" and the panel reads the page currently in front of you and reports what it finds: insecure resources on an HTTPS page, where forms actually post, whether policy links exist, pressure-tactics wording, and the footer identity line. This runs entirely on your device. Nothing from the page is transmitted to us, and it is deliberately kept out of the official score — evidence collected in a browser can be forged, so it never feeds the shared result. PRIVACY • By default, the only domain sent to our servers is one you explicitly check. • The as-you-browse badge is OFF by default. Turn it on and the extension reads existing public scores for sites you visit — it never triggers new scans. • Page content is never transmitted, under any setting. FREE AND PAID Checking is free and always will be. Signing in with your webtrustscore.com account records scans to your account and expands the full report — every signal with its notes and evidence — right inside the panel. Monitoring your own site is the paid tier. Full method, model history, and changelog: https://webtrustscore.com/why
