WebToMD turns webpage content into clean Markdown you can paste into AI chats, coding assistants, and agent workflows. Open WebToMD on the active tab to extract the page's main content. It removes common page noise such as navigation, sidebars, ads, footers, and related widgets while preserving useful structure such as headings, lists, tables, and code blocks when available. Use WebToMD to: - Convert a webpage's main content into token-efficient Markdown. - Convert highlighted text from the right-click menu with “Copy Selection as MD”. - Scan native HTML dropdowns and export their labels, option groups, and selected values as structured Markdown. - Add optional YAML frontmatter with the source URL, title, author, publication date, and fetch time when available. - See an estimated token count before copying. - Choose the output format that fits your workflow. Chat-ready strips images and links for compact AI context. Reference keeps inline links for source-aware answers. Archive keeps image URLs and links for notes and knowledge bases. PRIVACY WebToMD processes page content locally in your browser after you invoke it. It does not send page content to developer servers, use analytics or telemetry, or require an account. Your preferred preset and output settings are stored with Chrome storage. WebToMD uses temporary access to the active tab instead of persistent access to all websites. Browser-internal pages and PDF viewers may not be supported. Dropdown scanning supports native HTML select elements; custom JavaScript-rendered dropdowns are not supported.
