WebSummary AI turns long, dense pages into clear summaries and a calm, focused read, right inside Chrome's side panel. Open it on any article and get the gist in seconds, without leaving the page. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Quick summary — a clear, concise summary of whatever you're reading. • Key points — the main takeaways pulled into a short, scannable list. • Custom prompt — tell the AI exactly how you want a page summarized. • Full text — a distraction-free reading view with no ads or clutter, plus font size and light/dark controls. • Links — every link mentioned in the page, gathered in one list. • Copy anything — send any summary, the key points, or the full text to your clipboard in one click. CHOOSE YOUR AI • Chrome's built-in, on-device AI by default: private and free, and nothing leaves your browser. • Or bring your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), or x.ai (Grok). The model list loads from your own account, so you always pick from what you actually have access to. READ IN ANY LANGUAGE Get summaries in the language you choose, whatever language the page was written in. STAYS OUT OF YOUR WAY • Press play to summarize. Switch to another tab and it keeps working on the page you started, so it's ready when you come back. • Transient network hiccups are retried automatically, so you rarely need to refresh. PRIVATE BY DESIGN With Chrome's on-device AI, your reading stays on your machine. Page content is only ever sent to a cloud provider if you deliberately choose that engine and enter your own API key. Your key is stored locally in your browser. No sign-up required. Works on articles, blog posts, documentation, and other content-heavy pages.
