Overview

Summarise the blog post you're reading in Chrome's side panel: key takeaways, what its images show and next steps.

WebSum turns the long blog post you're reading into a clear summary in Chrome's side panel, right next to the article. FEATURES • Notices when you open a blog post or article and offers a small "Summarise" button with the reading time • TL;DR, key takeaways, why it matters, and practical next steps • Explains the diagrams, charts and screenshots in the article, not just the text • Every point links back to the paragraph it came from, so you can check it in one click • Flags caveats, such as missing evidence or an author selling a related product • Stays out of the way: the button hides while you scroll down and you can turn it off for any site • You choose which sites WebSum can read: all of them, just the ones you pick, or only when you click its icon • Copy a summary to share it, or regenerate it HOW TO USE 1. Open a blog post or article. 2. Click the "Summarise" button in the corner of the page, the WebSum toolbar icon, or press Alt+Shift+S. 3. Read the summary in the side panel. Click a ¶ number to jump to the source paragraph. PLANS Try 2 summaries a day without an account. Sign in with Google for 5 a day, free. WebSum Pro: 20 summaries a day, our sharpest model, more takeaways including the data and trade-offs, and up to 12 images read per article. A generous monthly fair-use allowance applies: after a very busy month, summaries switch to our fast model until the 1st. Monthly or yearly, switch or cancel any time. PRIVACY WebSum only reads the article when you ask for a summary, and it never reads private apps such as email, documents, chats or AI assistants, even if you ask. The article's text, title, address and images are then sent to WebSum's server and its AI provider to write the summary. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track your browsing. Full policy: https://websum.dev/privacy.html PERMISSIONS • WebSum only reads the page you're on when you click its icon or press Alt+Shift+S. If you want the Summarise button to appear on blog posts by itself, WebSum asks for access to all sites (or just the sites you choose) inside the side panel; you can remove it any time in Chrome's extension settings. Recognising an article happens on your device; nothing leaves your browser until you ask for a summary. SUPPORT Help and common questions: https://websum.dev/support.html Questions or bugs: six9dev@gmail.com What's new in each version: https://websum.dev/changelog.html Version 0.3.1: summaries keep writing when you switch tabs, so you can start several articles and come back to each one finished.
