WebSocket Interceptor
Overview
Intercept and filter WebSocket messages with DevTools integration
**WebSocket Interceptor** gives you full control over WebSocket traffic on any page — right inside Chrome DevTools. Debug real-time apps, test edge cases, and reverse-engineer protocols without touching the server. Everything runs locally. No data ever leaves your browser. **What you can do:** - **Inspect live** – See every WebSocket connection and message in real time, with direction, timestamp, size, and pretty-printed JSON. - **Filter** – Hold messages that match property-based rules (equals, contains, regex, exists) by direction. Filters are saved automatically. - **Approve or block** – Review held messages and decide what reaches its destination. - **Modify** – Edit a held payload before it's delivered or sent. - **Inject** – Push a message to the page as if it came from the server. - **Close connections** – Terminate a socket with a custom close code (1000 or 3000–4999) and reason. - **Manage** – Remove connections and resize panels to fit your screen. **How to use:** Open DevTools on any page with WebSockets and select the **WebSocket Interceptor** panel. **Permissions:** Storage (save filters), Tabs (route commands), Host access (observe WebSocket traffic). **Privacy:** All processing is local. Nothing is collected or sent to any server.
