Overview

Injects community WebMCP tool configs into sites you visit.

WebMCP Today registers community-built tools on the websites you visit, so AI agents that support WebMCP can act on those sites for you. WebMCP is an in-development Chrome capability that lets websites offer tools to AI agents. Most sites haven't implemented it yet. WebMCP Today fills the gap: browse a registry of community-maintained tool packages, install the ones you want, and the tools appear on those sites automatically. FEATURES • Browse tool packages for specific sites at webmcp.today • One-click install — packages live on your device, not in the cloud • Tools register only on sites you installed a package for • Declarative packages: each one is a validated configuration describing which site APIs to call — not remote code • Kill switch: packages reported as broken or abusive are disabled on your next safety-list refresh • Your browsing stays private: page loads make no network requests; everything is matched locally on your device REQUIREMENTS WebMCP is behind a Chrome flag while the platform is in development. You need Chrome with chrome://flags/#enable-webmcp-testing enabled, and an agent or inspector that can call WebMCP tools (e.g. the Model Context Tool Inspector). Without the flag the extension is inert. HOW TO USE 1. Enable the WebMCP flag in Chrome 2. Visit webmcp.today and install a package for a site you use 3. Open that site — its tools are now available to your AI agent PRIVACY This extension does not collect or transmit personal data or browsing history. Packages are matched locally on your device. The only network contact is anonymous downloads from webmcp.today when you install a package or when safety lists refresh. Full policy: https://webmcp.today/privacy PERMISSIONS • "Read and change your data on all websites" — community packages can target any site, so the extension must be able to run wherever you have installed a package. It activates only on sites with an installed package; matching happens entirely on your device. • "Store data" — your installed packages and the safety list live in local browser storage so page loads never hit the network.
