Overview

Turns the structure of the current webpage into reproducible generative music. Local-only analysis; nothing is uploaded.

Every webpage already has a structure. We let you hear it. WebCode Sonification Engine (WSE) turns the structure of the page you're reading into a 30–90 second piece of generative music — synthesized live in your browser, from nothing but the page itself. One click on "Analyze & Play" and WSE reads the current tab's DOM topology, sampled CSS and visual geometry, then composes and plays a piece that belongs to that page: 🎼 DETERMINISTIC SOUND IDENTITY The seed is Hash(CanonicalURL, StructuralFingerprint). The same page structure always produces the same music — every site gets its own sound signature. When a site is redesigned, its music changes too. Press "Regenerate" for a variation that keeps the site's identity. 🏛️ THE STRUCTURE PICKS THE ORCHESTRA A text-heavy blog leads with keys and strings. A button-covered dashboard turns rhythmic. An image gallery rings with bells. Link-dense pages get busy arpeggios. Deep DOM trees widen the pitch range. Dark palettes go minor; bright ones go major. Seven scales, Euclidean groove signatures, and song form (Intro–A–B–A'–Outro) derived from header, sections and footer. 👁️ VISUALIZER — WATCH THE CODE BECOME MUSIC (new in v0.3) Press "Analyze & Visualize" and a full tab opens where the page's tags stream by like subtitles and light up the instant "their" note sounds — links flash on arpeggios, images on bells, buttons on percussion — while a piano-roll score scrolls under the playhead. Honest provenance: every note knows which structural layer created it. 🎛️ MAKE IT YOURS Five styles (Ambient, Piano, Electronic, Orchestral, Eastern), three modes (Hybrid, Musical, Analytical), and tuning sliders for tempo, density, brightness and reverb. 18 synthesized instruments including xiao, flute, Karplus-Strong guitar and taiko — no sample downloads, everything is pure Web Audio synthesis. 💡 EXPLAIN MODE "Why does this page sound like this?" — the popup shows exactly which page features drove the tempo, key, scale and layers. 🔒 LOCAL-ONLY BY DESIGN No server. No telemetry. No accounts. Analysis runs only when you click, only on the active tab. Form values and editable content are never read; query strings never enter the pipeline. Nothing you browse ever leaves your machine. WSE was designed independently and is not an equivalent system, but prior art showed the direction was possible. The web was never silent.
