Webcap
Overview
Capture screenshots of page regions or individual components
Webcap is a lightweight screenshot tool for Chrome that lets you capture any part of a web page with precision. Two capture modes: Component mode (default): Hover over any element on the page and Webcap will automatically detect it. Scroll up and down (or use arrow keys) to expand or narrow the selection to parent or child elements. Click to capture. Component captures include a clean drop shadow with rounded corners, making them ready to share. Rectangle mode: Click and drag to select any rectangular area on the page. Great for capturing custom regions that don't align to a single element. Switch between modes anytime by pressing Tab. Built-in editor: After every capture, Webcap opens a simple editor where you can choose a background before saving. Pick from solid colors, gradient presets, or use the color picker to set your own. The editor works especially well with component captures, where the background fills in behind the drop shadow for a polished look. Keyboard shortcuts: Tab: Switch between modes Arrow Up/Down: Traverse the DOM tree in component mode Esc: Cancel Webcap runs entirely in your browser. It does not collect any data, make any network requests, or require any account. The source code is available on GitHub.
