Web Page Magnifier – Magnifying Glass

A simple magnifying glass for any web page. Switch it on, then hover to zoom in on small text and images. No account, no tracking.

Sometimes the text on a webpage is too small, the images are too fine, and the numbers in a table are impossible to see. But you don't want to zoom in on the entire page, as that would mess up the layout. This magnifying glass is for that: once opened, wherever you move your mouse, it zooms in on that area, without changing the page itself. It's very easy to use. Just click the icon in the upper right corner of your browser, and turn the switch on in the pop-up panel. If you prefer using the keyboard, you can also press Alt+Shift+Z. Once it's on, a lens will appear around your mouse, showing the magnified image. It will follow your mouse wherever you move. If you think the magnification is too low or too high, hold down Ctrl or Alt and scroll the wheel, or press the plus or minus signs to change the magnification immediately. The lens will flash to indicate the current magnification. When you're done, press Esc, or press the shortcut key again, or go back to the panel to turn it off. The magnifying glass won't get in your way. By default, clicking links, buttons, and typing will all function normally; the magnifying glass won't obstruct your view. When you scroll down the page, resize the window, or click or type something, the magnified view will automatically refresh without needing to be reopened. If you prefer the magnifying glass to disappear on click, there's a "Close on click" option in the panel; turning it on will achieve this effect. You get to decide the look of the lenses: size, magnification, and frame color are all adjustable; choose from round or square, and the magnification can reach up to 8x. If the keyboard shortcuts conflict with other software, simply click "Modify" in the panel to change them. Dark mode is also supported, and there are 55 interface languages that will adapt to your browser. You can rest assured about privacy. Magnifier is a completely open-source app on GitHub with 40,000 upvotes and ranked number one on Product Hunt's monthly chart. Magnifier only displays the current tab's screen for magnification after you click the icon or press the shortcut key. The entire process is done on your own computer; no login, no internet connection, no data uploads, and no data collection. The settings you adjust only exist in your own browser. There are a few things I need to tell you first. Browser-defined pages, such as settings, extensions, and app store pages, may not work if the browser doesn't allow extensions to run on them; the control panel will indicate this. For local files, you need to check "Allow access to file URLs" in the extension details before you can use them. The viewfinder is actually a snapshot of the page, so videos and animations don't move within it; they update automatically when the page changes. Also, for embedded content from other websites, such as embedded video windows, the viewfinder might not follow the mouse cursor when you move the mouse over them, and the viewfinder won't be visible when the video is in full-screen mode.
