Overview

Archive any authenticated website as self-contained HTML files — inlines CSS, fonts, images, and scripts.

Web Archiver lets you save any website as a collection of fully offline HTML files — directly from your existing browser session. No separate login, no API keys, no command line. Just open the page you want to archive, click the extension icon, and hit Archive. ── WHY WEB ARCHIVER ── Most archiving tools can't access pages behind a login. Web Archiver runs inside Chrome, so it uses your existing cookies and session — anything you can see in your browser, it can archive. ── WHAT IT DOES ── • Crawls pages using breadth-first search starting from any seed URL • Inlines all CSS, web fonts, images, and JavaScript into each HTML file • Saves files directly to your Downloads folder as it goes — no waiting until the end • Rewrites internal links to relative paths so you can navigate the archive offline • Lets you control crawl depth, page limit, URL filters, and render wait time ── HOW IT WORKS ── 1. Navigate to the site you want to archive (make sure you're logged in) 2. Click the Web Archiver icon in your toolbar 3. Confirm the seed URL and include prefix 4. Click ▶ Archive 5. Open ~/Downloads/{site}_{date}/index.html when done ── OPTIONS ── • Seed URL — starting page (auto-filled from your current tab) • Include — only archive pages whose URL starts with this prefix • Exclude — skip URLs matching a regex pattern (e.g. /logout|/admin) • Depth — how many link-hops to follow from the seed • Max Pages — hard limit on total pages • Render Wait — extra time for JavaScript-heavy pages to finish rendering • Inline Images — embed images as base64 for fully self-contained files ── PERMISSIONS ── • tabs, scripting — to open pages and extract their content • downloads — to save HTML files to your Downloads folder • storage, alarms — to maintain progress state during long crawls • Access to all URLs — required to fetch cross-origin CSS, fonts, and images without CORS errors ── OPEN SOURCE ── https://github.com/kimjihyo/web-archiver
