Overview
Run a real axe-core accessibility check on any page you can open — including localhost, staging and screens behind a login.
Run a real axe-core accessibility check on any page you can open, including localhost, staging and screens behind a login. Built for developers, QA teams and accessibility reviewers who need to examine the exact UI state in front of them, including an open dialog, expanded menu or authenticated screen that a remote crawler cannot reproduce. WHAT YOU CAN DO Choose EAA, EN 301 549, ADA, Section 508, AODA or a broad standards-oriented check. Review violations, items needing human review and passed-rule counts. Highlight a finding's element with a temporary, inert marker that disappears when the popup closes. Inspect best-effort relative source hints in the Accessibility (wcagc) DevTools panel; unknown sources are never guessed. Complete the full local-check flow without an account. WHAT AN ACCOUNT ADDS (OPTIONAL) The extension works fully without an account. A free account lets you: Save it to your account: 10 saved checks a month on the free plan Run a cloud check on one page of your own verified domain Get one AI fix explanation a month LOCAL BY DEFAULT A check starts only after you choose Check this tab. The extension does not scan in the background, and running a local check does not upload the page or its results. All executable JavaScript, including the fixed-version checking engine, is bundled in the extension package. The extension does not download or evaluate remote code. It has no advertising or user-activity analytics. SAVE ONLY WHEN YOU CHOOSE Connecting a wcagc organization is optional. If you connect through the OAuth PKCE sign-in flow and explicitly choose Save to wcagc, the extension sends a bounded snapshot containing the page URL and title, selectors, markup fragments and failure summaries limited to 2,000 characters each, your optional snapshot label, optional relative source hints, and check metadata. You can see the connected organization and optionally associate a site. The extension never reads screenshots, full-page HTML, cookies, request headers, the values you type into form fields, local-storage contents, data from other tabs, a history or list of previously visited pages, location, personal communications, or financial or health data. Each markup fragment is the failing element's own markup as the page rendered it, so it can include displayed text and attribute values and review what you save. The URL and title of the single selected page are included only in the snapshot you explicitly save. Authentication tokens are kept in memory-only extension session storage. Data is not sold, used for unrelated purposes, transferred to third-party analytics, used for lending or creditworthiness, or used for user-activity analytics. The extension contacts only https://api.wcagc.com. If you separately connect an issue tracker in the wcagc application and export a saved finding, wcagc (not the extension) sends that finding to the tracker you nominated. AN HONEST RESULT BOUNDARY A local check is a browser snapshot affected by the current browser, viewport, installed extensions, and page state. Saved local checks remain identified as local checks and are excluded from trends, regression comparisons, verification workflows, CI verdicts, evidence packs, and client portal views. Automated checks cover only some accessibility requirements. Manual testing remains necessary. The result is not an accessibility audit, certification, proof of legal compliance, or guarantee of conformance. The extension does not provide an overlay, automatic remediation, or automatic fixes. The bundled checking engine uses the open-source axe-core library. wcagc is not affiliated with or endorsed by Deque Systems.
