Convert MP3 to WAV and WAV to MP3 in Chrome. The file stays on your computer. There is no account and nothing is uploaded. Click the toolbar icon. A side panel opens. Pick a direction, drop files, set quality if you want, listen, then convert. Other tabs stay open. Two directions To WAV: for an editor, a sampler, a DAW, or anything that wants uncompressed PCM. You pick bit depth, sample rate, and channels. Peak normalize is optional. It raises the loudest sample to 0 dB and will not clip. To MP3: for a WAV that is too big to send or keep. Bitrate is 128, 192, 256, or 320 kbps. Same queue and preview. The picker only takes the matching source. MP3 in if you are going to WAV. WAV in if you are going to MP3. A FLAC or an M4A is rejected with a message, not a silent fail. Where the work happens Decode, resample, mix, peak scan, and encode run in the page. The service worker only opens the panel. There is no host permission, so this extension cannot read the sites you visit. Settings and the daily count sit in localStorage on this Chrome profile. They do not sync through your Google account. A second computer has its own ten conversions. Queue Drop several files or use Choose files. Each row shows the name, duration, source size, and an estimated output size for the current settings. Change bitrate or bit depth and the estimate updates before you commit. Same name twice is skipped. A file that will not decode is listed. The rest of the batch still runs. Downloads happen one after another so Chrome is not flooded with save dialogs. Finished rows leave the queue. Ten conversions a day on this device. The count resets at local midnight. Preview does not spend a conversion. If the queue is bigger than what you have left, convert stays off until you remove some files. Settings WAV: 8-bit (small / lo-fi), 16-bit (what most editors expect), 24-bit, or 32-bit float. MP3: constant bitrate only. No VBR switch. Sample rate: 48 kHz if the next stop is video. 44.1 kHz if you care about a CD-style grid. Lower rates for voice notes. The MP3 path snaps to a rate the encoder accepts. Channels: stereo, mix to mono, or L / R if the interview was split. How to use it 1. Click the icon. 2. Choose To WAV or To MP3. 3. Drop files or click the drop zone. 4. Open the format section if the defaults are wrong. 5. Preview a row if you want. 6. Convert. Chrome saves each file the usual way. Escape closes notices. Ctrl+Enter or Cmd+Enter starts convert when the queue is allowed. Theme can follow the system or stay light or dark. What it will not do It will not convert AAC, M4A, FLAC, OGG, or video. It will not pull audio from a tab. It will not join, split, EQ, or upload to a cloud. The ten-a-day cap is local. This version has no paid unlock. If you already live in a DAW, you may not need this.
