Overview

Puts the pay and applicants per opening for every WaterlooWorks posting on one sortable page. Not affiliated with UWaterloo.

WaterlooWorks only shows pay at the bottom of each posting, so comparing a few hundred jobs means opening every one of them. I built this for my own co-op search so I could see all of it on one page. WatsWorthIt reads each posting in your own logged-in tab when you open your job search results. Every posting then shows its hourly pay in CAD and how many people applied per opening. Pay listed in USD or another currency, or per day, week, month or year, gets converted to an hourly CAD rate, and the number shows the sentence it came from when you hover over it. Each job also gets an ROI score out of 100. It weighs the pay against your odds of getting in, and it goes down when a posting asks for a higher year of study than you have. The second and later roles from the same company score a bit lower, so a single employer doesn't take over the top of your list. You can sort the list by any of these numbers. A posting opens in a side panel when you click it, along with how many co-op students that employer hired in past terms and which programs they came from. You can mark postings as Interested, filter by applicants per opening, job level, work arrangement or whether a cover letter is needed, and save a search to come back to. A big search takes a little while to read the first time you open it, and a progress count shows how far along it is. The details are cached after that, so it opens right away. Everything you look at stays in your browser, and there's no account. The extension sends anonymous counts of how often it gets used, with a random ID and never anything about the postings you look at, your searches or your settings. It reads postings on your own computer for your own job search, and it never writes resumes, cover letters or any other application content. WatsWorthIt is not affiliated with the University of Waterloo.
