Watch While You Wait
Overview
Watch YouTube while ChatGPT or Gemini is generating. The player gets out of the way the moment your answer is ready.
Tired of staring at a "thinking…" spinner while ChatGPT or Gemini writes your answer? Watch While You Wait drops a small, draggable YouTube player onto chatgpt.com and gemini.google.com so the waiting time isn't wasted. How it works: • While the AI is generating → the player grows and plays. • The moment your answer arrives → it shrinks to a corner and keeps playing, OR pauses so you can read — your choice. • While you're typing your next question → it pauses so you can focus. No accounts, nothing to sign up for. It rides on top of the real chatgpt.com and gemini.google.com that you're already logged into — your chats stay exactly where they are. Just paste a link to get started; no API key needed for that. Features: • Paste any YouTube video, Shorts, or playlist link — no key required. • Optional: search YouTube right inside the popup (this one feature needs your own free YouTube Data API key, since it calls Google's search API directly). • Drag the player anywhere; resize it big or small; mute with one click. • Remembers your settings and last position. • Lightweight — no background tracking, no analytics, no servers of our own. Good to know: • YouTube only. Netflix, Prime Video, and Instagram use copy-protection that no add-on can legally embed. • To embed the YouTube player on the AI sites, the add-on relaxes those two sites' security headers (and only those two). See the privacy disclosure for full detail. Remove the add-on to restore them.
