Walking Route Planner

Use a walking route planner and distance calculator to map a walk, see its length and share links.

Walking Route Planner helps you plan a short walk between two points on a map. It shows the path, distance and estimated walking time, and lets you copy a link to open the trip elsewhere. How to use 1. Open the extension from the Chrome toolbar. 2. Select A and B on the map, or enter their latitude and longitude. 3. Click “Plan walk”. Move or swap the points to change the trip, then calculate again. “Clear” removes both saved points and the displayed result. The path follows mapped roads and trails. Points may snap to a nearby path within 150 metres. Time is estimated at 4.5 km/h; allow for your own pace, crossings and breaks. “Copy link” creates an OpenStreetMap link with the same endpoints and walking mode. No extension is needed to open it. That site recalculates the path, so the result may differ from the preview. Limits This prototype accepts points up to 25 km apart and a resulting path up to 50 km. It needs an internet connection and depends on public map and routing services. If a request fails, it shows an error rather than inventing a path. It does not offer live navigation, GPS tracking or step counting. Map data does not guarantee access or safety; check signs and local conditions. Data and privacy No account or location permission is required. The last two points are saved in this browser until you clear them. Clicking “Plan walk” sends the chosen coordinates over HTTPS to FOSSGIS for routing; map display also uses third-party services. Their servers may keep request logs. The extension does not read browsing history or other tabs and has no advertising or analytics. See the linked privacy policy for details.
