DETAILED DESCRIPTION Wagyu is a self-custodial Monero wallet for Chrome. Send, receive and store XMR from your browser, swap supported assets without an account, and bridge funds. Your private keys are generated on your device, encrypted with your password, and never leave it. There is no account to create and no server that can spend your funds. MONERO WALLET FEATURES • Send and receive XMR. Every payment gets a fresh Monero subaddress, so incoming transfers cannot be trivially linked to each other. • Know the real network fee before you commit. Wagyu builds and signs the transaction first, shows you exactly what it will cost, and only broadcasts once you confirm. An unusually high fee is flagged and needs your explicit acknowledgement. • Swap XMR for supported assets without creating an account. Before any XMR leaves your wallet, the order is checked against the quote you accepted and the payout address is shown to you. • Bridge XMR to and from Hyperliquid. • Manage several Monero wallets, and several accounts inside each one. • Track your transaction history: transfers, swaps and bridges in one list, exportable to CSV. NON-CUSTODIAL BY DESIGN: HOW YOUR KEYS ARE PROTECTED Your 25-word Monero seed phrase (recovery phrase) is sealed with AES-GCM under a key derived from your password (PBKDF2-SHA256, 600,000 iterations) and stored only in this browser's extension storage. The password itself is never kept, and the derived key is non-extractable. The wallet locks itself after an idle timeout you choose, and shortly after you close the popup. Your scan progress is saved when it locks, so a long wallet restore picks up where it left off. Revealing your seed phrase or private keys always asks for your password again, even when the wallet is already unlocked. Repeated wrong passwords are slowed down. When you create a wallet, Wagyu asks you to write the seed phrase down and then type three of the words back before the wallet becomes usable. It is a small friction that prevents the one mistake you cannot undo. If you ever forget your password, the wallet can be removed from the device and restored from that phrase. A REAL MONERO WALLET, NOT A WATCH-ONLY VIEW Wagyu runs a full Monero wallet in WebAssembly and scans the blockchain itself. It is not a watch-only view of someone else's node. You can connect it to your own Monero node (monerod) in Settings, including a node running on your own machine. XMR amounts are handled as exact integers from the field you type to the transaction that is signed; a value that cannot be represented is refused rather than rounded. Fiat and other-asset figures shown alongside are estimates. COMPATIBLE WITH FEATHER AND THE OFFICIAL MONERO WALLET Export your wallet as a standard Monero .keys file and open it in Feather Wallet, the official Monero wallet, or any wallet2-compatible client. Import one the same way. You are never locked in. PRIVACY: WHAT LEAVES YOUR DEVICE Like any Monero wallet, Wagyu syncs from a Monero node (node.wagyu.xyz by default, or one you choose in Settings), so that node sees your IP address and the transactions you broadcast. If you use swaps or the bridge, the amounts, the destination address you enter and an order identifier are sent to the Wagyu API so the order can be created and tracked; token logos are loaded from the same API. Nothing else is transmitted: not your seed phrase, not your private keys, not your password, and no analytics.
