Overview

Convert Sucuri WAF realtime log dates or audit trail dates to your local or chosen timezone.

WAF Log Date Converter — Read WAF logs in your timezone, instantly Keep reading WAF logs and audit trails — not fighting timezones. If you work with Sucuri WAF realtime logs or audit trail pages, you know how annoying it is to translate timestamps in your head (or in spreadsheets) when team members, customers or servers are in different timezones. WAF Log Date Converter converts the timestamps shown on the Sucuri WAF interface into your local time (or any timezone you choose), right in the browser. No server-side processing. No copying-and-pasting. Just readable timestamps, instantly. Why you’ll want this extension - Read logs faster — See timestamps in familiar, human-readable local times without mental conversion. - Reduce mistakes — Avoid misreading event times when investigating incidents or coordinating across regions. - Built for teams — Choose any timezone (including India / Asia/Kolkata) and the choice is stored for you in Chrome sync so your preference travels with you. - Works on realtime logs and audit pages — The converter supports both the realtime logs table and the audit trail table used in the Sucuri WAF dashboard. - Lightweight & private — All date conversions happen locally in your browser. The extension does not send your log data anywhere. - Responsive to updates — When new rows are added dynamically, the extension re-formats them automatically. - Helpful UX extras — A popup to change the timezone, neat brand styling, and the extension icon changes when you’re on the Sucuri WAF site for a clearer visual cue. How it works (short) - The extension injects a small content script into Sucuri WAF pages that locates the timestamp column in log and audit tables and reformats each timestamp using the JavaScript Intl API for the selected timezone. - It preserves the original timestamp so switching timezones re-runs the formatting correctly. - It listens for dynamic table updates and re-applies formatting automatically. - You pick your timezone from the popup and click Apply — the extension stores your choice and updates the page immediately. Quick features list - One-click timezone selection (popup UI) with a curated list of common zones. - Persists your selected timezone via Chrome sync (available on any signed-in Chrome instance). - Converts two common Sucuri table locations: - Realtime logs table - Audit trail table - Detects new rows and converts them automatically via DOM observers. - Robust parsing with fallbacks for common WAF log timestamp formats. - Lightweight Manifest V3 extension with no server-side components. Permissions explained (what and why) - storage — Save your selected timezone so it's there each time you open the popup. - tabs — Detect active tab URL to correctly target Sucuri pages and to switch the extension icon for easy visual feedback. These permissions are required so the extension can operate locally on the pages where you need it. No log content leaves your browser. Installation & usage 1. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store. 2. Open the Sucuri WAF realtime logs page or audit page (URLs matching https://waf.sucuri.net/*). 3. Click the extension icon, select your desired timezone from the dropdown, then click Apply. 4. The timestamp column(s) will be updated to show the chosen timezone. Changing your selection and reapplying will reformat timestamps from the preserved original. Troubleshooting & tips - If the popup looks unstyled: the extension includes built CSS that should be built at packaging time; reinstall or reload the extension if needed. - If dates don’t change: - Make sure the page URL matches the Sucuri WAF dashboard and contains realtime=1 (for realtime logs) or ?audit for the audit page — the extension targets those pages. - If you have multiple windows or the wrong tab active, ensure the log page is the active tab when you click Apply. - Open DevTools Console on the WAF page to see debug/warn messages — they can tell you if a timestamp format was unrecognized. - If the icon doesn’t change: reload the extension in chrome://extensions and check that the active tab is a Sucuri WAF page. Privacy & security - Everything happens in your browser. Timestamps are parsed and reformatted locally — the extension does not transmit log contents to external servers. - The extension only requests the minimal permissions required to perform its work on the target page(s). - If you have organizational security policies, review the permissions and source code as needed — the extension is intentionally small and focused. Frequently asked questions Q: Will the extension modify the underlying WAF data? A: No — it only updates the visible text in the page DOM for readability. It does not modify data on the server. Q: What formats does it support? A: It supports common WAF timestamp formats and attempts a few robust parsing fallbacks. If it cannot parse a timestamp it will leave it unchanged and log a debug message to the console. Q: Can I add more timezones? A: v1.1.0 has a comprehensive list of all timezone and a neat button to help detect yours. If yours isn't in the list let us know! Support & feedback Questions, feature suggestions or bug reports are welcome. Please open an issue on the project repository (link in the store listing) or email the developer address listed with the store entry. Please include: - A short description of the page URL and the problematic timestamp (if any). - Browser version and OS. - Any console output (if you saw debug/warn logs). Install now Make Sucuri WAF logs readable at a glance — install WAF Log Date Converter and stop translating timestamps in your head. Quick to set up, private by design, and built for distributed teams.
