It softens what strangers can read at a glance, while you still work normally. Chat list blur Contact names, phone numbers, and last-message previews in the sidebar stay blurred until you hover a row. Message blur Open chat text stays blurred until you hover a message bubble. You keep the layout and timestamps; only the sensitive text is hard to read from a distance. Media and avatars Photos, videos, and profile pictures are blurred so faces and documents are not visible to someone standing behind you. Reveal on hover Move the pointer over what you need. That piece clears. Move away and it blurs again. Adjustable strength Set how strong the blur is, from light privacy to heavy shoulder-surfing protection. Quick clear with Option Hold the Option (Alt) key to temporarily clear all blur when you need a full view. Release and protection returns. On-page privacy panel A small pill on WhatsApp Web opens an iOS-style settings sheet so you can toggle options without leaving the chat. Local only Settings sync with your Chrome profile. No account. No chat content is uploaded. Nothing is sent to a server for blurring.
