WA Translator adds an inline translation under each incoming message and can translate what you type before you send it. It works on top of WhatsApp Web and stays out of your way. ★ KEY FEATURES • Inline incoming translation — every message you receive is auto-translated and shown in a colored line right under the original. The original text is never altered. • Translate-on-send (outbound) — type in your own language, press Enter, and the message is translated into your contact's language before it goes out. Press Enter again to send. Already in the target language? It just sends — no extra step. • Two engines: – Google Translate (default) — free, fast, no setup, no account. – DeepSeek AI (optional) — add your own API key for higher-quality, context-aware translation. DeepSeek uses the recent conversation as context to resolve pronouns, slang, ellipsis and domain terms correctly. • Smart conversational context (DeepSeek) — translations read naturally because the model sees the surrounding messages, not just one line. • Handles multi-line & list messages — long, multi-paragraph or numbered-list messages are translated in full, not just the last line. • Quoted replies handled — when a message quotes another, only the new reply is translated, not the quoted preview. • Skips same-language messages — if a message is already in your language, nothing is added. • Customizable — choose your reading language and your contact's language, pick the engine, and set the translation text color. • Fast & cached — translations are cached per message, so reopening a chat or reloading the page repaints instantly without re-calling the engine. • Auto re-translation — change your target language or engine and existing messages refresh automatically. ★ HOW TO USE 1. Open https://web.whatsapp.com and sign in as usual. 2. Click the WA Translator icon to set your reading language, your contact's language, and (optionally) your DeepSeek API key. 3. Incoming messages are translated automatically. To send a translated message, type in your language and press Enter to translate, then Enter again to send. ★ PRIVACY • Your DeepSeek API key is stored locally in your browser and is only sent to the DeepSeek endpoint you configure. It never reaches the page or any third party. • Message text is sent only to the translation engine you choose (Google Translate or DeepSeek) for the sole purpose of translating it. • Network requests are made from the extension's background service worker — your key is never exposed to the WhatsApp page. • No analytics, no tracking, no ads. ★ NOTES • This is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp, Meta, Google, or DeepSeek. • Google Translate is used via its public endpoint and may rate-limit heavy usage; switch to DeepSeek for sustained, high-quality translation.
